Russell Wilson and Broncos Most Bet Team to Win in Week 1

The Denver Broncos (-4.5) have received the most significant betting handle to cover the spread against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1 of the 2022 NFL season at BetMGM.

The Broncos have received 91% of the betting tickets and 93% of the betting handle to cover the 4.5 spread at the sportsbook.

Fittingly, quarterback Russell Wilson will play his first game with the Broncos on the road at Lumen Field against his former team.

And, to amp up the drama, even more, the Broncos-Seahawks tilt is also a standalone Monday Night Football game.

It’s worth noting the moneyline betting trends are perhaps more interesting, with Denver receiving just 60% of the tickets and only 20% of the handle at the current -200.

The current moneyline odds have a 66.7% implied probability the Broncos will start the season 1-0 with a road win over the Seahawks.

Of course, Wilson being traded from Seattle to Denver in March was one of the most notable offseason transactions in the league and immediately repositioned the Broncos as Super Bowl contenders, according to the odds.

However, it’s interesting that Denver’s odds have now reverted back to +1600 to win the Super Bowl at BetMGM, which is the same number the Broncos sat at before acquiring Wilson.

Denver dipped to +1200 to win Super Bowl LVII following the acquisition of the nine-time Pro Bowler.

Perhaps, the supporting cast surrounding Wilson no longer holds up as the best collection of skill-position players since The Greatest Show on Turf after closer inspection.
