Celtics vs Mavericks Preview 

A seven-game winning streak from the Dallas Mavericks (22-16) will be put to the test tonight against the NBA best Boston Celtics (26-12). This is one of the best matchups basketball has to offer, as the favorites to win the NBA Championship (+400) will go up against Luka Doncic – the favorite to win regular season MVP (+280). The Celtics (-142) are 2.5-point favorites, with the total set at 232.

Dallas Mavericks 

The Mavericks have been the worst team against the spread this season (13-23-2), only covering three times over their seven-game winning streak. During the steak, they defeated the Houston Rockets three times, who hold the second-worst record in the NBA. Dallas had three players contribute over 20 points their last time out, headlined by Doncic, who nearly recorded his ninth triple-double of the season. He recently became the first player in NBA history to record 60 points, 20 rebounds, and 10 assists in a 126-121 win over the New York Knicks.

Boston Celtics

The Celtics come into this matchup having lost consecutive games for the fourth time and are looking to avoid tying their season-worst losing streak of three. They are coming off a 33-point loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder in a game they were favored to win by 11 points. Each of Boston’s top seven scorers was present - meanwhile, the Thunder were missing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who ranks fourth in league scoring. This marked the first time the Celtics have lost by more than 16 points this season, as the Thunder become the 18th team in NBA history to have five players record at least 21 points in a single game.

The Celtics recently snapped a four-game losing streak against the Mavericks, dating back three seasons. They covered a 5.5-point spread, winning 125-112 on the road back in November. Boston will be on the road this time, with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 pm Eastern time.
