BetMGM released its NFL player props betting trends for the regular season statistical leaders, and there are a number of players in long-shot territory receiving action in the various markets.

Here’s a look at five popular long-shot bets in the player props markets.

5 Popular Long-Shot Player Props

Elijah Moore to Lead NFL in Receiving Yards (+12500)

New York Jets wide receiver Elijah Moore flashed his potential during a midseason stretch in which he racked up 28 receptions for 392 yards and five touchdowns across five games last year. He then missed the final five contests of his rookie season with a quadriceps injury and COVID-19.

Fast forward, and Moore projects to open the 2022 campaign as the No. 1 wide receiver in the New York vertical attack. Unfortunately, No. 1 quarterback Zach Wilson is sidelined following knee surgery to repair his meniscus and is iffy for Week 1, so there are already question marks surrounding the entire offense.

Furthermore, Moore will need to duplicate the noted five-game sample over an entire season to take a run at leading the NFL in receiving yards. That's a tall task.

Kenneth Walker III to Lead NFL in Rushing Touchdowns (+10000)

Seattle Seahawks rookie running back Kenneth Walker III is recovering from a hernia surgery, and while there isn’t a clear return timeline, he hasn’t yet been ruled out for Week 1.

Of course, Walker’s uphill battle to leading the NFL in rushing touchdowns also includes earning a big enough workload, as fellow back Rashaad Penny broke out to the tune of 671 rushing yards and six touchdowns over the final five games last season.

Still, considering Penny made his first career start in Week 10 last season and has missed more games than he’s played over the past three years, Walker should have a meaningful role once healthy.

Daniel Jones to Lead NFL in Passing Yards (+12500)

The support for New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones to lead the NFL in passing yards is probably as much an investment in first-year head coach Brian Daboll as it is in Jones.

After all, Daboll had a hand in turning the Buffalo Bills into one of the most dynamic offenses in the league as their offensive coordinator the past four seasons. More specifically, he helped Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen develop from a promising raw prospect to the consensus betting favorite to win this season’s MVP award.

Now, Jones just needs to take his own enormous step forward. Running back Saquon Barkley being at full health to start the year and the Giants upgrading their offensive line during the offseason should be boons for Jones – but he still has a lot of work to do.

Dallas Goedert to Lead NFL in Receiving Touchdowns (+20000)

There’s no shortage of hype for the Philadelphia Eagles offense, and tight end Dallas Goedert is tracking to remain a key cog in the passing attack. Additionally, this will be the first time in his career he’ll open the season as the starting tight end for the Eagles.

It’s not all rosy, though.

Even with an impressive 10.9 yards per target last season, Goedert only found the end zone four times; his career-high touchdown total is five. Additionally, Goedert has only received 13 red-zone targets over the past two seasons.

Travon Walker to Lead NFL in Sacks (+10000)

Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Travon Walker has the athleticism to make an immediate impact at the highest level, and he projects to open the season in a go-to role.

Still, after registering just six sacks through 13 games with Georgia last season, the first overall selection in the 2022 NFL Draft will probably need to triple that total just to enter the sacks-leader conversation.

If you’re feeling lucky and confident in Walker, you probably also remember how long his opening odds were to go first overall in April’s draft.
