You should consult tevari on WTA. I'm not playing much on the WTA side other than some fade material here and there, at least not until late in the tournament. ATP is better for me.

Well at least the read was right on Klizan. Easiest winner of the day maybe besides Sock - both absolute beat downs on their opponents. Feel okay missing it though. Too often I've played too many matches on Day 1 and got buried. Modest winning day is perfect to start to me. Treat it like a golf tournament where you're building to your best.

A good start today. Reads were good even on the ones I passed on for the most part. Free plays didn't pan out, but I didn't expect them to be more than dart board shots. Staying balanced again tomorrow with the half unit wagers.

Nah. I like him to Klizan to win, but it's a real toss up at the end of the day. I felt Reynolds was a better bet at about the same price.

Istomin I really wanted to pick against him, but Zopp just hasn't shown enough I don't think to win in a Best of 5 format. If it was a regular best of 3, maybe I'd go with Zopp ... Istomin's performances lately have been bad. This should be a good surface for him though, but I thought that for the hard courts he had played on this summer and sucked on.

Yeah that was a nice win for Zopp too. Another one where at least the gut feeling was right, although I don't cash in on it. Istomin has really fallen off the map since Wimbledon.

Like I said earlier, having a modest winning day and missing out on some winners is okay by me. I've played man a Slam where I thought I had a bunch of prospective winners ... played too many and wound up going 1-5 or something worse. Time to homework up for Tuesday.

I like Jimmy Wang for some reason as well. Jumped to +125....probably a good time to take a stab if ever.

I'll take a guy who blew threw quali's against a guy who hasn't played in about 6 weeks because of a foot injury. Let's see if he generates his normal serve velocity with a recovering pushoff foot. Always the possiblity of a retirement, or gasses out if the thing extends to 4 or 5 sets.

Yeah I mean Karlovic could come out and dominate him if everything is 100% and clicking, but even before the injury his year was pretty poor. Wang might not be great at any one thing, but as long as he gets his serve in consistently and places it - that should at worst keep him deep into sets. It was Wang or Stepanek for me and the calculated risk was Wang in the end as although I do think Stepanek can win today, Almagro is tougher than most think on hard courts and has proven so before.

how do you feel about Berdych and Roanic today? i have them pretty big in a parlay. wtt just said he sees Berdych going down today, i personally don't see it after he got some of his game back in his last tourney...is Roanic used to going 5 sets if necc?

I wouldn't have used Berdych simply because of the way he has struggled mostly until this past week in Winston-Salem. For the price, he's not worth the risk to me. Raonic I think will win in 4 at the most as long as he's serving well to start. For high chalk I would rather have used Tsonga or Querrey or someone like that who both have better match-ups IMO. Goffin can be a tricky little dude if he gets into Berdych's service games regularly.

End of the day, I do think Berdych survives as I think he has a decent draw to the quarters just like he has had most tourneys this Summer ... but that has been the problem is that he hasn't played consistently and taken advantage.

Yeah I like Wawrinka. I expect it to be tight and he might drop a set, but should pass.

All those guys have some risk today but should win. Even though its impossible to know what Dolgopolov shows up first, it is a good spot for him playing someone who doesn' know his oddball game.
