    Hi,

A bit background. Been doing tenniscompiling for years (only punter now), will try and make a thread where I can follow up during the year. I will use a unit scale from 1-3 very limited as you see. But I prefer to have it like that, where 1= ok bet 2= good bet and 3 = excellent bet I normally look for value in dogs, although there can also be plenty of value in favorites. You will also see me giving a small reasoning for my plays, prefer doing that. I will mostly focus on ATP and WTA, but sometimes even challengers.

    Time to start.

TAMIRA PAZCEK (against Safarova) WTA Paris @ 2.59 Pinnacle 3 units

I been waiting for this match. Safarova is returning from injury and is a marginal player. She played the first rubber in the FEDCUP against Groenefeld, and was truly awful. Although Groenefeld served really well, the unforced errors were just flying around from Safarova. Safarova is at the moment far away from her best form, and although Pazcek has no kind of form, she should have a great chance here for an upset. Its never easy regrouping from FEDCUP, especially considering that Safarova was dropped after that first horrible match.

BJORN PHAU (against Chardy) ATP San jose @ 2.75 Stan James 1 unit

Im personally not a big favorite of Phau, but the german is a good indoor player and has been showing some form lately. The same can not be said about Chardy that has four 1st round losses now and hardly beat anyone. His potential is there, but he really
has not had a breakthrough after looking so promising some time back. Phau should truly fancy his chances here.

TAMARINE TANASUGARN (against Kudryavtseva) @ 1.76 Pinnacle 2 unit

Tanasugarn normally only performs on grass, but you can Expekt here to give full throttle at home infront of a very supporting crowd. She was amazing during the Fedcup @ home, beating among others Shvedova in straight sets. These two have a 1-1 h2h record, but goes back to 2006. Expekt Tanasugarn to continue her form at home, and win against a player with a somehow questionable form, not played since Aussie Open.

I disagree with Tanasugarn though...she had the hot streek of her life midway through last year but has recently returned to being an average player stuck in the middle of the pack. I think Alla will beat her

PETER LUCZAK (against Chela) @ 1.85 Expekt ATP Brazil Open 2 units

I think Chela is way over the top, and cant see him continue too many years. Luczak is excellent on clay, and was the only player besides Bellucci to take a set from Monaco last week. I think Luczak should be a pretty solid favorit before this match.

TAMARINE TANASUGARN (against Lisicki) @ 3.00 Ladbrokes WTA Pattaya 2 units

Tanasugarn continuing her impressive form, and I think the flathitting thai girl can cause problem against big serving Lisicki. Lisicki struggled with her for for while, and played Amanmuradov who retired after injury yesterday.

FLORIAN MAYER (against Robredo) @ 2.65 BWIN ATP Rotterdam 1 unit

Mayers problem has always been in the mental department, but the way he took out Tipsarevic was impressive. Infact Mayer had a great start to the year, taken out both Petzchner and Troicki in the Australian Open. Robredos form is very questionable, and I dont rate his win against Haase as anything. These players have met 4 times before, Robredo leading 3-1 h2h. But the last two has been very close. Mayer has taken the first set in both meetings, before losing 2nd set tiebreakers with 9 and 10...Expekt him to close it out today if he gets the chance.

Good win by Tanasugarn, think she was down 2-4 or 2-5 in 3rd set, winning 7-5.

Like the Mayer pick. Couldn't pull the trigger on Phau over Chardy as I though Chardy would have a break out year and he burned me a bunch. I think the loss to Phau puts him on auto-fade.

Agree. Chardy has been in terrible form since he won Stuttgart last year, just cant get anything going.

JULIEN BENNETEAU (against Berrer) @ 1.80 STAN JAMES ATP ROTTERDAM 3 units

Berrer had an amazing run over the past week. Won the Heilbronn Challenger and made it to the final in Zagreb last week. Then in first round in ATP Rotterdam he had a marathon match against Clement, winning in 3 sets, after winning tiebreaker in first 18-16! Thats basically Berrer these days, amazing on big points, and getting the wins. Berrer is a huge guy, nearly 100g and Im sure his fitness must really have been tested now. His first serve % was not that impressive against Clement, and this test will be extremely difficult. Benneteau is well rested, and was impressive against Ljubicic in 1st round, also had one more day to rest. I think Benneteau will be very much up for this matchup, and has a 1-0 h2h record against Berrer.

Fognini is an excellent claycourter, but can be a bit on and off. Was totally on against Vassallo, winning 2nd set 6-0. On his best days, he can compete with almost anyone on this surface. Granollers had an impressive match against Gonzo last week, but I cant really see him as favorite in this one. Fognini leading 2-1 h2h, but Granollers took the last one in a very close match. Fognini to win today.

LUCIA SAFAROVA (against Pennetta) @ 2.25 5 dimes WTA Paris 2 units

I thought Safarova was going to struggle this tournament, after a breakdown in the FED CUP. Instead she regrouped, and took her game back to her old supreme level. She is an excellent indoor player, and this week she has really been painting the lines with her leftie style. Convincing straight sets against Pazcek, Schiavone and Peer (one of the really inform players so far this year), has left her only 1 step away from the final. Pennetta has beaten Kleybanova and Garbin, nothing special except Kleybanova. On Indoor Safarova is a top 3-4 player in the world, and I think Pennetta will experience this. Safarova is leading 1-0 h2h, a meeting back in 2006, but the Czech girl is better these days.
