#2452One more to fade. ATP DOUBLES: MARRERO-LOPEZ -155 They are taking on a pair of Germans in Michael Berrer & Andreas Beck who have won two doubles matches between them in I think 10 or 11 matches in 2010. This is not a pair that normally plays much in the way of doubles whereas Lopez and Marrero do. Lopez in particular is a skilled doubles player and often pairs up with some big Spanish names like Nadal and Ferrer in some of these bigger tournaments. Marrero and Lopez teamed up to win a doubles title this Spring in Estoril. Marrero won another with Granollers on clay and this pairing did play together at Wimbledon. Experience in doubles is the pick here. Starts at 2pm ET. Money should be flushed by 2:10 with the way today is going. Enjoy.

#2455I think Melzer wins. Motivation certainly is a point to consider, but all things being fairly equal, he is much classier than Zverev on dirt. Handicap I would think will be a push if Melzer wins possibly. Good luck fellas. I'm not on anything for that one, so hope you guys cash!Comment -

#2457CHALLENGER PLAY
DI MAURO +160
Italian vs. Italian as Di Mauro battles Volandri. These two have a long history of head-2-head matches that stretches back to 2001. Di Mauro has won the last two, one coming earlier this year when he whipped Volandri in the 1st set and Volandri retired with some Novak Djokovic allergy problems. Di Mauro also beat him at the Milan Challenger last summer in straights. Volandri has enjoyed a pretty solid season on clay on the Challenger level, while Di Mauro has struggled a little. Both walloped their opposition in the opening round. Di Mauro's serve was quite crisp with 7 aces. He'll need that and to do a better job on getting his 1st serve in [53% in round one] to get by Volandri. Still, with their history, I think Di Mauro is worth a try here. He's also a gambler who was suspended in 2006 for several months. Never gambled on his own matches or influenced outcomes, but he was found to be betting on the sport which is a no-no by ATP standards. Just a tidbit of info to chew on for you that I thought was interesting. Scheduled to start at 1pm ET.Comment -

#2462JCF-Zeballos Total home no matter what now. Di Mauro drops the 1st set, 7-6. Had multiple breaks in the first and chances in the tie break to win the set, but choked. Serving numbers in that match are a joke. Di Mauro won 14% on his 1st serve. Volandri won 37% on his 1st serve.

MELZER +350
Going to add this one for the bottom half of the Stuttgart draw after the small play on Chela crapped out. Monfils is still pending as the play up top. Like this one because Melzer is just two wins from the final and lines up against Montanes next. He is 5-1 lifetime vs. Montanes. Then he would get Zeballos, Greul or Ferrero and honestly, I think the Montanes match will be tougher than any of those guys.Last edited by EaglesPhan36; 07-14-10, 10:13 PM.Comment -

#2469THURSDAY
PARLAY: GREMELMAYR (Remini Challenger) + ROBREDO [-116]
Gremelmayr showed no signs of fatigue in his opening round win at the Remini Challenger over Ilhan, winning in two very quick sets. He came into the event fresh off a clay court Challenger title and looks solid still. He draws a qualifier in round two who has not had much success in 2010. Clar-Rossello has had trouble making the main draw on the Challenger level on dirt, so Gremelmayr should find himself able to advance if continues to serve well. Robredo may have needed this trip to Sweden more than anyone else. On the heels of a very poor year by his standards, Robredo looked pretty solid in his opener. His serve was controlled and produced 7 aces in a straight sets win. He's 24-7 lifetime at this event and draws Golubev who is on par with his first round opponent as far as what he brings to the table against the Spaniard. If Robredo serves as solid as he did in round one, he should push on.Comment -

#2471PHAU -130
There will be people jumping on Chuidinelli after he beat Hanescu, but why? Hanescu is just a miserable prick. Phau has been on a solid run on the Challenger level on clay, winning two titles in May. His strengths [speed/fitness] are suited best to this surface as he has a lite version of David Ferrer's game. Run down shots. Put them back in play. Try to serve well. Chiudinelli barely scored more points than Hanescu in their two set affair which ended 7-6, 6-3. That marks a man who gives his opponent plenty of chances for points off his serve. The Swiss hasn't won back-2-back clay court matches in a main draw Challenger or ATP level since 2004. Phau has enough experience here to get through so long as his serve doesn't fail him.Comment -

#2473EP - I know this is more chalk than what you normally play but if you are interested in a golf play i have one for you with Darren Clarke making the cut at -180. I did a little write-up in the more sports section but this is a solid play. You don't have to tail but this should be a very solid one. I'd say odds of hitting are 85% in my book. I don't post golf picks often but this is a good one.Comment -
