#2207Pinny just posted the outrights I am waiting for dimes they said around 8PM eastern as I asked. France is +189, I agree 100% about Monfils. I wish it was Tsonga playing instead of Gael, but I think that the doubles point is huge and France should have a edge there.Comment -

Lines back up at pinny, all but Chile and Czech Republic that is. I knew that +129 on the Czech Republic wouldn't stick. When they re open it will be like -110 or -120 for the Czechs. Minar and Hajek are playing really well on the clay challenger tour.Comment -

DAVIS CUP: MASSU -140
Massu gets the nod for Chile in the 1st tie against Ivo Minar on Chilean red clay. Massu has a wealth of Davis Cup experience and I think that is huge here. He has won his last 5 Davis Cup ties on dirt and has 31 ties under his belt in Davis Cup singles play. He is 13-2 on clay and 16-4 outdoors in Davis Cup play. Minar meanwhile has a grand total of two Davis Cup ties with an 0-2 mark in singles play. The Czech isn't a total mug on clay with a couple of Challenger titles in 2010. Still, this isn't Challenger tennis. At home and needing to make an immediate stamp for the Chileans, I think Massu will survive here in 4 or 5 sets.
DAVIS CUP: MONFILS +105
Potentially great match here with Monfils taking on Ferrer in France on an indoor hard surface. That is the key here. Ferrer is not at home on these types of surfaces with a 16-23 mark on indoor hard courts. He also hasn't played on this surface since November of last year. Monfils has had much more success despite his youthful age on Ferrer with a 45-23 mark on indoor hard surfaces. That includes making the final of the Paris ATP tournament late last year and beating Kohlschreiber in a Davis Cup tie in the Spring. Ferrer does have the experience edge in Davis Cup play with 16 ties to Monfils' 2. I think it should help that Monfils lone win came earlier this year and from what I have read these courts are geared towards being quick and slick to try and play to France's strengths and Spain's perceived weaknesses. Monfils' fitness might still be something to watch here, but the court conditions and home crowd make Monfils an attractive try here. If he can get off to a good start, he may be able to give France a boost from the beginning of this match-up.Comment -

#2216Can't bring myself to lay the chalk on the "to advance" lines for the Davis Cup. Like Russia the most, but it's Russia after all. Just predicting these for kicks. Wouldn't necessarily mean I would bet one way or the other unless I write something up about the picks like above.
SPAIN-FRANCE
Monfils over Ferrer
Verfasco over Llodra
*These results could easily flip flop, but I think France is going to win one of these first two due to the surface.
RUSSIA-ARGENTINA
Davydenko over Nalbandian
Youzhny over Mayer
*Even though I'm not a big Davydenko fan, Nalbandian hasn't played for months. Youzhny has a big edge on Mayer on the indoor surface. Russia should be firmly in control after tomorrow, unless they bet on Argentina.
CROATIA-SERBIA
Djokovic over Ljubicic
Cilic over Troicki
*Another one where I could see the results flip flopping potentially because Cilic has been a head case this season as has Djokovic. In any case, I think this one is tied 1-1 after tomorrow.
CHILE-CZECH REPUBLIC
Massu over Minar
Hajek over Capdeville
*Capdeville has the home court on Hajek, but he withdrew from his last tournament due to some sort of wrist problem just over a week ago. He's got experience too, but hasn't been great losing 4 of his last 5 Davis Cup ties. Hajek is less experienced, but is at home on clay. If Capdeville is healthy, he might be able to get Chile a commanding lead, but my feeling is somehow he'll blow it.Comment -

#2220Nice stuff, just one thing: be wary of Leo Mayer, he has little experience indoors but has a game well suited to it. His serve is particularly effective, can easily produce 20-30 aces or so.Comment -

#2223DAVIS CUP: LLODRA-VERDASCO OVER 39.5 [-140]
This quick surface should be conducive to Llodra staying in this match and potentially pulling an upset. Verdasco is not at his best on this surface, but it's hard to see this one not going at least four sets. Both serves will need to be on to keep the sets competitive.Comment -
