PARLAY: BECKER + SCHUETTLER [-130]
Pretty straight forward matches here for both. Becker found good form on grass again in the two build-ups to Wimbledon. Sweeting might be good enough to grab a set if his serve is working, but Becker has both the experience and class advantage on this surface. Schuettler goes against Tursunov. The Russian isn't usless on grass, but he's still working his way back into form after a long injury layoff. Probably not the right time to have to win 3 sets to beat someone. Schuettler has always been a threat on grass as evidenced by his semifinal run at Wimbledon in 2008. He looked good at the Queens Club before petering out against Sela in Eastbourne last week. At his best, Tursunov would be a legit threat and a possible upset here. I don't expect he'll completely roll over here, but Schuettler should be able to battle through in a grinder.
Mayer [+195]
Fading Monfils here. He's just been horrible for the majority of the year with injury issues and inconsistency. Mayer doesn't have a ton of grass court experience, but he's got a big serve that can carry him through some rough patches with his ground strokes. Monfils may well work through this, but I'll let him prove to me that his fitness and game are good enough to get him through the three sets he needs to win at Wimbledon.Comment -

Already dissected this portion of the draw. Don't fancy Djokovic to make a run to the semis which potentially leaves Hewitt to have a shot here - likely in a showdown with Djokovic for a QF berth. Cilic is just a total dartboard shot. This bottom part of the draw is pretty open. Roddick has not looked good lately and he's got a tough road to clear in almost every round. He very well could rediscover his form and roll, but I'm not banking on it. Cilic comes in here with little expectation and perhaps that is good. Assuming he can work out of the first round against Florian Mayer, Cilic could emerge as a darkhorse if he then gets past Fish in the 2nd round.Comment -

DJOKOVIC-ROCHUS OVER 34 [-113]
Neither was particularly great in their short lead-up to Wimbledon. Djokovic was upset in the 2nd round of the Queen's Club event by Malisse and Rochus lost a 3 set affair to Chuidinelli in Halle. Rochus has a pretty good track record of playing Djokovic tough, leading the head-2-head 3-1, including a win on hard court in March. I think Rochus can take a set off Djokovic if he serves well, but will need to keep some of the sets tight to give this a legit shot.Comment -

Well Mayer had his shot in the 2nd set tie break, lost 11-9. Monfils probably takes him in straights easily here as Mayer probably blew his wad in that set.

I think I'm giving Marin Cilic the new nickname of Hot Mess. Reminds you of that kinda hot chick you know, but she's always sloppy drunk and looks haggard by the end of the night. That's Cilic in a nutshell, tantalizing talent that ends up playing like a drunken pro shop guy. Hot mess about to get straighted out and cost me a few bucks on Day 1 for the stupid dartboard future I took on him to win his bracket.

PARLAY: GARCIA-LOPEZ + BELLUCCI [-104]
Garcia-Lopez comes into this in good form after making the finals in Eastbourne last week. He's been pretty decent at Wimbledon, winning his first round match in 4 of the 5 times he's made it to the main draw. The qualifier Kamke from Germany has yet to score a main draw win on grass. So long as GGL comes ready to rock, he should be able to move on. It is important that he start quick I think because he could have a little fatigue from playing a lot of tennis last week. Bellucci takes on fellow Brazilian Ricardo Mello. Neither guy is perfectly suited to grass. Mello has more experience, but is 0-5 in main draw matches on grass. Bellucci only has three career matches on grass, two coming at Wimbledon last year where he went 1-1. Mello though is much more of a clay court player whereas I think Bellucci's game translates a bit more to all surfaces with his big serve. So long as Bellucci pumps first serves in and can keep ahead in his service games, he should have a bit too much for Mello.

Have to take a chance here with Seppi against Almagro. Even when healthy, Almagro has not had much succes on grass with a career 4-7 mark. He suffered either a groin or hip injury last week that forced him to pull out of the Eastbourne event. There is a chance that he is no where near 100% and potentially may not even step on court perhaps depending on his warm up tomorrow. One thing is certain here, if Almagro is healthy enough to go, you can expect a long, grueling match because that seems to be his M.O. at Grand Slams. Seppi was pretty tame on grass in two matches prior to Wimbledon, but he has advanced to the 2nd round or further at Wimbledon in four straight years. Seppi will definitely test Almagro's fitness because his game is predicated on simply putting the ball in play and seeing if his opponent will make an error, I'll take the shot.Comment -

I won't win this because it's against a Russian and that probably means some inherent bullshit will allow for Youzhny to find a way to win. Still, Sela was in solid form in the grass lead-ups while Youzhny got pushed around by Kiefer in his one match at Halle. Sela had a pretty solid run at Wimbledon last year and the odds are nice enough that I'm willing to throw some away here just because I refuse to believe Sela is a 2-1 underdog against someone like Youzhny who runs hot and cold.Comment -
