Roger to possibly play Roland Garros
It’s all speculation, nothing confirmed yet. I watched Djokovic’s post press confrence video, he mentioned Federer will probably play at RG... he hasnt played there in a couple of years i wonder if retirement is very close now?

Federer indicated after he lost to Tsitsipas that he was going to play and felt fresh enough to do so because of the break he has had the last few years.
I think it’s a fair enough reason but also I don’t think 2019 is his last. Olympics in 2020 I think he will try and stretch it out till then.

By the way, unrelated but don't forget to bet against Grigor Dimitrov on clay, it is a profitable strategy every season.

Has anyone checked outright for RG? Djokovic @ 3.2 seems like so much value

Last year Djoko lost to Cecchinato, but that was a different time. He was coming off of injury and im pretty sure he's prepared this time. Also to mention, this AO final got to Nadals head most likely, i can see Djoko winnin calendar slam this year.

Roger Federer will play 1 clay event before the French Open (guessing Rome).

He could build up a head of steam before then as well as he has next to no points to defend other then a Semi Final at Rome. Basically every match until the French Open was match practice for him.

Just worried he draws a guy like Thiem in the QF or something. I do have some worries about some of the nextgen guys but.

As long as nadal is healthy he should still beat djoko on clay. Djokovic was great at the AUS open final however, Nadal was actually bad. He had djokovic caught out of position and hit it wide alot.

Whilst I agree Nadal could have improved things like his serving percentages I think that may have only made the score a little more respectable but still 3 sets like 6-4 7-5 6-4. Djokovic outsmarted him and Nadal didn't really have a plan B to combat it. The errors I felt (some were a bit uncharacteristic) but Djokovic for sure made him uncomfortable.
I still felt like it was a final where Djokovic WON it more then Nadal LOST it. Especially mentally.

Agree it doesn't mean as much on clay because it's a different beast but I imagine Djokovic will have some ideas to work out up until the French, we'll see. Definately one of the highest IQed players in the modern era.

There is really a big bunch of players able to beat Federer on clay. I would be surprised if he makes the quarters at the French Open.

Would lose to the likes of Schwartzman (even if Diego has no serve), Zverev, Thiem, Nishikori, maybe Bautista-Agut or Fognini.

Smart money at this stage is to bet on Novak to win the French Open. Nice odds. If he is fully fit, his only challenge is Nadal, don't think Thiem would be a problem.
