For me, the time has come to confidently oppose Rafa on Clay

His depth and consistently will be too much for Rafa.

If I was forced to pick a winner here and betting odds not apply, I'd still have to go with Ferrer. Which is pretty crazy.

BUT for some very sound reasons.

So @ 3.60 it's a no brainer.

Regardless, it should be a great match. David seems to eventually fold against Novak (who's just on another level), but against this Rafael Nadal he will battle with the full belief in a victory.

Was just about to say the same. Ferrer isn't executing at all.

But that's the risk taking on the King of Clay. Ferrer needs to be at his best and instead he's below par. Rafa has improved too.

I'm still not ready to write Ferrer off. It looks like there's nothing he can do, but he can play a lot better and isn't executing at all right now.

He could sneak the 2nd set.

Pretty bad. He had 8 ue's before 3 games of tennis had even finished. And Rafa hadn't even made him play many extended rallies.

Just genuine unforced errors.

When Nadal got passive, Ferrer made Nadal pay. When Nadal got desperately aggressive, Ferrer was ******. Nadal tried to win the match playing defensively for the most part. That didn't work obviously. Nadal got aggressive when he needed to in the 3rd and Ferrer had a lot less chance.

All Nadal had to do was match Ferrer's aggressiveness in the 3rd set and ferrer had little chance. The only chance Ferrer had was for Nadal to continue to play passive.
