#256Nadal is definitely the new king. Federer had a great run at winning majors, but it appears that unless Nadal gets beaten before a final - that elusive #14 may stay elusive.Comment -

#258Nadal made shots yesterday I previously thought were impossible. His top spin is sick and clearly is a huge advantage over RFed. Fed spent all last year prepping for Nadal and it didn't matter. You could tell by Fed's comments and tears that he now knows that he can't beat this 22 year old kid.Comment -

#259Wow. Just watched it all on replay.
Congrats Nadal backers.
Can't believe Fed squandered so many break points, was it 18 total he had?Comment -

#261The match today boils down to two moments:
1) Tiebreak, 3rd set. Federer makes three unforced errors, then double faults to lose the set.
2) Last set break of serve. Federer is 30-0 up, then hits a double fault and three totally unforced errors.
In other words, several hours of play, hard work for months, an entire tournament, and Federer totally gifted two sets away. Nadal did nothing in either of the above, just punted the ball into play and Federer dumped it into the net under no pressure.
Of course, serving at 50% and making 65 unforced errors doesn't help your chances much either, but the above two are a killer.
Personally I reckon this was Federer's to win, but he has a limited ability to play top class tennis nowadays. If you look back over the last two years, he's not played three good matches in a row at any time. For example, at the US Open a horror show against Andreev, then raises it to beat Djokovic and Murray. At the Aus he was poor against Berdych, and it acted as a wake-up call, thus massacres of Del Potro and Roddick. Today he never turned up at all.Comment -

#262Feds first serve was horrible for this match. Had way to many second serves which Nadal could capitalize on.
Feds groundstrokes are to inconsistant to beat Nadal. All Nadal really has to do is to have a rally of more then 6 shots and Fed will probably hit the ball long or wide at some point. Feds backhand has become even more inconsistant then it was back when he was unbeatable.Comment -

#263Fed WON>
1st set ... up a break twice... choked it away
2nd set ... 6-3
3rd set ... choked it away
4th set ... 6-3
5th set .... the consummation of his vaginality
Rafa didn't beat him. He beat himself before he stepped on the courtComment -

#264Nadal choked away sets 2 & 4. So they were even.
The better man won, get over it already.Comment -

#266what you need to accept is that sometimes the better player or team loses.... and sometimes the right pick loses.
this happens all the time.
let's say, for example, Team A in baseball plays a great game and lead 6-1 going into the bottom of the 9th. They outhit and outpitched the other team.... getting 12 hits themselves and giving up only 2 hits.
Bottom 9th rolls around and Team B tears up Jose 'Loose Cannon' Gonzalez, Team A's star closer. Final: 7-6
In retrospect would you say Team B was the better team than Team A? No. You'd say Team A dominated and super dildo threw the game away in the 9th.
Federer was ahead in each of the first 4 sets.... yet he is so girly when he plays Rafa.... he just crumbles like a bitch.
That's the reality.
Going back to the US Open quarters of Agassi vs. Blake.... Blake dominated Agassi for the first 2 sets... then gave the match away. In the 5th set Agassi choked it away when it was 5-5.... so Blake had the match on his racquet at 6-5... but then he choked b/c mentally in his subconscious mind he didn't want to beat Agassi... and this is the reason why Blake will never likely even make it to the final of a Slam. He has the mentality of a loser and defeats himself.
Another classic case is Gaudio. Gaudio could do some great shit on clay.... but mentally he could go superhomoerectual and just can it against #200 in the world.
That's how it is.Comment -

#267Federer has lost 3 straight Grand Slams to Rafa and all 5 of his career GS losses were to him.
How's he better?
And Rafa was never "behind" in the match.Comment -
