I'm thinking Ungur might not be a bad play despite his awful form. Montanes isn't all that, and their head-to-head (though it doesn't mean much) is one apiece.

I know you like Johnson's serve, but is your Johnson over Stepanek pick based on Johnson recently playing on hard courts and Stepanek being off since Wimbledon? I don't know what to do with this one, tbh.

Zeballos injured with an ab injury last tourney and generally was not in great form the past months on clay. Fischer worked through qualis, so he's got more match play on the courts under his belt + the comfort level of playing at home. Injury may not effect him, but it was a good set-up to try IMO.

Had thought about Ungur, but chose to pass. Montanes is hard for me to read.

On Kudla, I like Groth to push him. Groth's serve is on par with the fastest in the game. If he gets 1st serves in consistently, the sets should be tight.

Always reserve judgement until they play a match. Especially with someone coming off a title. He should do well and has an easy matchup today.

It's always funny how missed opportunities for what would have essentially been set points (Makarova serving at 1-4, 2 BPs for Bouchard with second serves) manifest themselves into complete meltdowns. Bouchard would've served for the set at 5-1, but instead loses 9 straight games afterwards. I was on her straight up and knew it when she got broken to love at 4-2 in the next game that it was basically meltdown time. Young players are especially prone to this happening.
