I consider Donald Young above Challenger level competition albeit ever so slightly. Lu just got smoked at St. Petersburg last week by Agut. He retired the week before that in a Challenger with the wrist injury. If it wasn't for the injury, I would think Lu would be -250 or higher. I just think it's a value play banking on him not being healthy.

One match isn't going to save him. He's got Finals points to defend and he's not going to defend them well. His ranking will finally truly match his level of play.

Regardless of whether he wins or not, I find it extremely hard to believe that you can have 'value' in backing Young at this point in time.

I don't see him beating lu. Lu is playing on his favorite surface and he is in a good form having won the Shanghai challenger lately.Donald young just loses and loses.

He doesn't win more than one if he wins one at all. Honestly the way he has played this year, he deserves to be ranked well below 150 and to have to fight through qualis next year in a lot of tournaments to earn his way into main draws. I think that's what he needs at this point ... hard work.

I think these couple of wks have been good for him while not playing. Having a new coach should help, maybe some time off was what he needed.

I don't need to watch the match to know the injury was bothering him. Look at the stats from the 2nd set on. Donald Young wouldn't beat a 100% healthy Lu on his best day. This play for me was all about betting against Lu not so much betting on Young.

I've seen Lu able to win return games against Karlovic (whose only game is big serves).
