There are a lot of reports lately of people having problems with them, closing accounts - not just on SBR.

I've always found them good and payouts to be timely, but no smoke without fire and all that.

    Hi Landprofits.

I have not seen single screenshot of a closed account. Almost all of the complainers are single post (ok some of them couple of more posts) forum users. So I still believe bWin and Betoto are solid books...besides the limits of course.

I belive they limit in different stages. It´s omething like 100 at first place, then 50 or 20. I have not seem lower than limits than 20.

    Hey Protein..

I understand exactly what you're saying - seriously I do ... however I do actually have a mate who is a one post wonder here because he had a problem with Bwin. I advised him to come here and contact Justin after having his account closed and casino winnings confisticated. The matter was resolved with the help of SBR.

I saw the (minimal) communication from Bwin and have to say the issue was handled extremely poorly. His only "crime" was playing for the bonus, but let's face it....he's not the first to try that. There was no "funny business" on his part.

Before witnessing that first hand I would have agreed with you that they are OK. I wouldn't go so far as to say solid though..... just that I have never had any problems with them apart from limits, payouts always fast and timely etc.

However the experience is always good until you get problems with a book and they freeze your account, funds and winning.....then your opinion changes.

Bwin are of course part of a huge company and have substantial financial backing. However a companies capitalization is no guarantee that they will treat players fairly. There is a recent and classic example of this with betfair (yes, really) - after making a huge error in offering an unmanageable casino bonus a couple of weeks ago, they got hammered and have stolen money from players exchange wallets in order to claw back losses. The way the whole issue has been handles makes a mockery of online gaming - the latest line from betfair is that they will not enter into any further correspondence with players issues and just refer them to the notorious LGA.

So there you have two huge companies, who you would never imagine would treat players unfairly, but, in fact - do.

Bwin is very well known here in germany, playing there for 2 years andcashed out 4figure sums a couple of time without any hassle, even after I hit them hard with their casino bonusses.

I was limited to 5 euro per bet 4 years ago, not using them since then. Complete rubbish!

Limited here to virtually nil for having the cheek to win a small horse racing bet over two years ago, they dont normally close accounts, they will just severely limit. The only bookie I have ever seen with a 'Close your account' tab, so you can do it yourself. Complete waste of space and time company.

I found a post on a Romanian forum which includes a print-screen of the betoto/ bwin account before it was closed and also the full history of that account. The history is in PDF files. http://forum.softpedia.com/index.php?showtopic=684930 Why nobody is doing anything against bwin and all their companies? They invest a lot in marketing in order to hide them behind a brand when they steal money from clients. They should be downgraded to D or E.

(Just some tittle tattle) I was reading the blog of one of the Betfair founders, a couple of weeks ago. He left them when they went public, but before that was their PR man.

He said that often when he went to speak to foreign govt ministers Bwin had often been in before him. They (govt ministers) told him that when they asked Bwin about laundering, under-age betting, addiction etc (ie negative gambling issues). That Bwin solution to these problems was to have a european wide stake limit of £10 on all bets, implying that it not only fixes these problems but that really might also be Bwins own preferred business model. (Puts Betfair straight out of business for one thing.) Kind of rings true to how they operate anyway. Wanted: squares betting small stakes, no one else need apply.

Personally I was set to £5 in apr 07 after a handful of bets. Dreadful place.

BWin's behavior is unpredictable. My friend used to be betting there like 4 years ago and go limited even though he wasn't betting for much. I have an account there for 2 years and never got limited even though I'm betting minor soccer leagues for max amount.
