#2BetMaker charges 6% commission on winning bets. No commission charge on losing bets. I'm not paying 6%, thats absurd. Staying with Matchbook.Comment -

#3I gotta figure many people are gonna be willing to give a try at an exchange backed by Cris. I am sure they will bring commissions down to approximate Betfair and Match. Bring on more exchanges. The wave of the future. If the UIGEA is modified or repealed/struck down--anybody with a solid exchange is abt to get mega inundated with American cash.
Just looked over there. If you are an every day player, it seems that commission rate is less based on their formula with loyalty points. Would love to hear from some vet exchange players here as to how this stacks up against Matchbooks structure. Seems to me it would be better than Betfair.Last edited by katstale; 09-25-09, 12:32 PM.Comment -

#5This sounds a bit like the BetFair model, except maybe CRIS won't steal your money for an "infraction". Now, they might charge you $200 to send money to Matchbook, so I guess that is a form of stealing.Comment -

The guys at CRIS are seeing the handwriting on the wall also, they probably have inside info about the repeal of the uigea by year's end. They as we do understand that EXCHANGES are the absolute future to come on this side of the world as it is already in Europe. They want to be there to collect and they will, not to many people from the states will want to put up with betfair's ID bullsh.t,if BETMAKER,MATCHBOOK and PINNACLES are there to offer a very safe place to wager with very high to unlimited limits.Imagine being in Vegas and having access to the 3 above and LV Hilton,Southpoint,M. casino, any of the 3 cal nevas,Lucky's and Leroy's

#10Their commissions page states:
The Exchange charges a commission on winning trades
Always remember, that commissions are only charged on your net winnings for any event.Comment -

#11Hrrrrrm. 12% point loss per week. If you risked $5k per week, after 5 weeks you'd be at 394 pts, after 10 601, after 15 711, after 20 769, after 30 815. The 12% is a killer, essentially plateaus out your points max. That 700-800 range gets you a 32% discount, ie reduces your commission on winnings from 6% to 4.08%.
If you put through $20k a week, it plateaus out around 3000 points, ie 46% discount, net commission 3.24%
I can't see why anyone would use this ahead of matchbook, where the commission is so much less. If you have betfair with this sort of volume, you can get down to 2.5% or even 2% commission, and the liquidity and choice of markets is much better. You've also got the ability to take points decay vacations.
The only real upside of betmaker vs betfair is the decay rate is 12% rather than 15%, and no premium charge.Comment -

#12You also have another book charging less than a sportsbook. If BetCRIS market makers can open a line at X dollars the commission isn't as important as the fact that you can get down big early at less than -110. I'd hope it evolves into a reduced juice CRIS option rather than an either-or exchange. We'll have to see what they decide to do.Comment -

#15As a horseplayer, I can't say how huge this is. U.S. horseplayers don't have access to Betfair (without jumping through hoops) and we're probably a bit away before Betfair attempts to make a push for a legalized U.S. exchange for horses since it hasn't even been a year since they acquired TVG. All serious horseplayers I know are extremely excited for this once it's fully launched (it's a soft launch now I'm imagining.)
As far as sports, I'd probably be sticking with Matchbook most of the time. Probably the only reason I wouldn't is if Betmaker offers more live betting options. Most of my sports action is during games available to bet live.
I'm excited to see what the next month brings for this new exchange.Comment -

#18How do we know this is run by CRIS? I know they bought the Betmaker accounts and folded them in to Bookmaker a few years ago. The company listed at the bottom of the Betmaker homepage is BMX Entertainment Ltd., 71C Georgio A, Office 3, Germasogeia, 4047 Limassol, Cyprus.Comment -

They will get it together within a month i am sure,i called Cris and i was told that they wont mind at all if one would bet big time at betmaker and than go for the Limit with BOOKMAKER.I also heard a interview by John Kelly with Mickey Richardson the top dog at Cris where he was matter of factually about his plan for betmaker. Here is the link:

AAAAAAAAAAAAMEN Sporty and with all the bullsh.t that is going with betfair (witch is more than meet the eye),BETMAKER can smell blood they will get their act together. The liquidity they will have from all the U.S.money coupled to their affiliation with the Cris and without all that ID bullsh.t from those betfair losers will end up having many Euros switch to them right out of Betfair.I also believe that they are sure that the EUGIA non-sense will be removed by year's end.
