Nope. Pretty much a consensus favorite on here. They always make right by the customer. I don't doubt that your friend is having a difficult customer support experience, but I assure you it's not shady nor a scam.

If they truly hung up on your "friend", then there's obviously more here than meets the eye. Their customer service may not be up to Apple standards, but they don't just hang up on customers for no reason. This story has been very fishy from the beginning and continues to get worse.
