    Help! MyBookie closed my account
My account was closed after I placed a $250 bet that was later than the posted starting time. Their site still had the line up so how is it my fault? They claimed I committed fraud and would not give me further clarification. I had $13,000 in my account and they said all funds will be lost, and that I will only be refunded my initial deposit of $1,000. My experience with other books when this happens is that the bet would just be deemed invalid. This is wrong and seems like an attempt to avoid paying out, as they have previously rejected all of my payout requests. Doesn't seem like MyBookie.ag has a good reputation with payouts to begin with so this isn't surprising. Please help SBR forum!
Update: MyBookie has worked with me and the situation has been handled. My account is back and I'm able to request payouts. Thank you all.

    Update: Payout requests are pending.

    Update:
Received the BTC payout today. Thank you to the SBR community for all the support & MyBookie staff for resolving the matter in a respectable and timely manner.

How far into the game did you place the bet? Did you know that the game had already started? Is $250 what you are limited to, or do you have higher limits?

Probably 15 mins into the match. It was an Esports bet and those are limited to $250 max. To be honest, their Live betting layout isn't the best and I thought it was a live line and placed the bet. The fact that the line was still offered was their mistake. I've placed over 20K worth of bets this past week and this one bet gets my account closed and 13K lost. Seems a bit ridiculous doesn't it?

They can’t take your balance they can however void the bet and boot you. Open a complaint if they took your whole balance

Yes, I've filed an SBR complaint. I was contacted by "Alex the Security" from MyBookie and he was extremely rude and provided zero clarification. He even stated "I don't owe you anything, you don't write my checks" and hung up. This caught me off guard, I'm absolutely stunned.

SBR folks will hardly ever respond to posts like this.

MyBookie is a rape book. Their terms and conditions can keep anyone's money locked up.

There is no reason they should be allowed to keep your balance. If they want to boot you, limit you, etc I can understand.

Do you bet only esports? If so, I'm surprised you weren't limited earlier on. I do find it hard to believe someone would bet $250 on a video game matchup and not be watching it streamed and know that it's live when placing the wager. That's the only part of what you said that stands out.

MyBookie is no A rated book, obviously, but I'm guessing you were beating them up pretty badly and doing this is allowing them to justify taking your full balance. Hopefully SBR can help.

They also gave away hundreds of thousands of dollars if not a million plus on thanksgiving.

I went on a pretty insane run. Deposited $1K earlier this week and turned it into $13K. Mainly $2K straight bets on NFL, NCAAB, NCAAF, with $250 Esports straights here and there. If you use MyBookie, you'd know that their Live betting layout isn't the best and can easily be misunderstood, especially on mobile. They even sent me a note when the game ended, that the bet was placed after the start time and bet was voided. It was only then brought up again when I requested for payouts. How convenient, right? All of a sudden I'm committing "fraud."

Had I lost my entire balance and continued depositing, they would've never brought up this "fraud" accusation and closed my account, I guarantee it. This is as shady as shady gets.

Unfortunately, we’re seeing a lot of reports like this lately. MyBookie appears to be really hurting financially and is turning to underhanded tactics to recover as much money as possible from people who dare commit the crime of winning money on their platform.

Asking you to remove the post after it was already created is a really bold move on their part. Apparently they don’t understand how the internet works. It’s not like you have the power to erase all of the posts which followed on to yours. And now they just look even worse for trying to cover up their crimes.

Maybe instead of trying to whack-a-mole threads like this, they should start acting like a non-scam book, pay you what they owe, and then boot your ass as is their right.

I did the same at Pinnacle on a NCAAB game believing it was in-game and they just let the losing bet stand. Didn't seem to care otherwise, though I did contact them as soon as I realized what happened.

Under their definition of “What is a risk free bet?” MyBookie should have put:

A risk-free bet is when you run a too-good-to-be-true promo and get many people to deposit. No matter how much money those folks eventually make off of their deposits at MyBookie, we won’t pay them. Hence, the bet is risk free to MyBookie.

Any update? Last we heard from OP, a David Strauss was looking into it.

Edit: I see the OP has been edited to say:

"Update: MyBookie has worked with me and the situation has been handled. My account is back and I'm able to request payouts. Thank you all."

So what was the resolution? Did you get your full deposit and all your winnings?

It’s great for the individual player that someone comes to the rescue after taking a bad PR hit. But let’s be honest about what's going on here. It’s crystal clear they have a couple guys - we’ve seen their names mentioned here many times - who call themselves “risk managers", and one of their sanctioned responsibilities is to look for any reason to hassle winning players - no matter how illegitimate - and try to get them to give up, surrender their winnings, or bet more and lose it all back to them. Apparently, the “risk” they are managing is having to pay people what they’re owed.

What’s scary is we have no idea how many players they’ve been successful in stealing from. Either because those individuals don't know that there are communities they can turn to for help or because they're scared that they’ll lose every penny if they don’t cooperate. It must be quite a lucrative business when you only expect to take in money and never pay out more than that, if anything at all.
