I recently opened accounts with both of these books and when I tried to deposit via *[card]* no luck. Has anyone else run into this problem and if so were you able to fix it? If not, what is a good option to use besides bitcoin (and other virtual money)? I really don't want to get into that stuff since I don't know much about it. Thanks

#2Card deposit options have shrunk in recent months. And you can't really fix it. But which cards/banks work change quite often as processing options come and go from availability for the books.
Not much you do but try again another day/week/month.
Or get with the crowd and use bitcoin. Most people who talk like you are usually surprised how simple it is once they have actually tried it a few times.
Happy to help you get started if needed..Comment -

#5I agree using a card is useless now. My credit card used to work but doesn't anymore. I went back to bitcoin this week, but found out there was a 17day hold for coinbase. It will take nearly take 3 weeks to get my bitcoins. By the time I get my bitcoins, there's a chance the value could go way down 17 days from now. It's become ever more difficult to get deposits into these books.Comment -

#6I have been having a hard time trying to get a bitcoin wallet authorized. Coinbase and blockchain are both being diifcult with the requesting documents which I did multiple times. Keeps going back to pending. I said penetrate it and just go the old school method which works.I just find it easier to do p2p. No sending documents, quick and easy and you don’t have to give out you’re credit/debit card informationComment -

If you guys want to BUY bitcoin. Gemini.com is faster than Coinbase.com and the "Cash App" phone app by Square Inc is faster than Gemini for new members.Last edited by Optional; 01-04-19, 08:19 PM..Comment -

Unless you suddenly plan to store you savings as bitcoin.
Bettors only own bitcoin for very short periods of time during transfers and pretty much do not care AT ALL if it is worth $1 or $10000. Makes no difference at all. Nada. None.
But whatever..Comment -

Like I said, that's extreme. I don't understand why a bettor wouldn't care if it worth $1 or $10000. That's what I'm trying to understand. If I bought 1 bitcoin for $100 and deposited it and cashed out for 1 bitcoin that was worth $50 how is that worrh it? Not trying to complain, just trying to understand.
When you want to deposit, you buy $100 worth of bitcoin from say Gemini.com
As soon as you buy it, you send it to your book for deposit. Normally the network takes no more than 10 mins to confirm the transaction and the bookmaker credits your account with ~$100 (say $98 to $102)
At that point you no longer own any bitcoin and you have only owned any for 10 mins or so.
You play with that and win $1000.
When you withdraw that $1000 you get paid $1000 worth of bitcoin at whatever exchange rate to the US$ it is at that moment.
Again it takes about 10 mins to be confirmed in your wallet. Another 10 mins to send to your exchanger (Gemini.com) where you sell it for $ which can be sent to bank account overnight.
So in reality you only own Bitcoin for 30-60 mins total both ways.
There will be fluctuations over that time period, but it can go up or down and you are generally talking about 1% or less. When someone happens to lose over 2% they sometimes start threads complaining that that is way too much to lose.
Basically, if just using bitcoin as a money transfer method for betting, the actual price at the moment you buy or sell it is pretty much irrelevant really..Comment -

Yeah. I signed up for an account with Blockchain so I can send and receive bitcoin. Only problem is I can’t buy any bitcoin on blockchain cause it says my “buy limit is $0”. You have to verify you’re account by sending in a government issued ID/DL passport. You upload you’re front and back picture of the ID and then it’s suppose to verify you’re account and you can buy bitcoin. Only problem is it keeps saying couldn’t verify and Kees telling me to retry. Then it said verified only for me to not have any bitcoin buying power. Limit still at $0. Pissed me off. I use to have coinbase a year ago and would be able to buy/sell and send/receive with ease. Didn’t use it for a long time and then when I go to use It after a year, it wants government ID sent through uploading. I once again did the same thing as on blockchain but they gave me the same bullshit couldn’t verify ID.
I just go the p2p method like I use to do. A lot simpler and saferComment -

#16For those that use bitcoin on the cash app. So you buy the bitcoin through this app(I have square cash app already). Then you send it to a bitcoin wallet?
My my problem lies in that coinbase doesn’t allow me to send/receive. Blockchain will allow me to send/receive but I can’t buy bitcoin cause they haven’t allowed my limit to increase. It’s on $0 for some damn reasonComment -

You may as well complete the verification if you have started it, but you will be better to just keep blockcahin.com/wallet as your personal central bitcoin wallet. (you own the private key for a Blockchain wallet so you have full control. This is not the case with a company wallet like Coinbase/Gemini/Bitpay/Sqaurecash.)
You do actually need to get verified at an exchanger, and link a bank account or card, just probbaly didnt need to do it at Blockchain.com really.

And FYI, your limit increases the more verification info you provide and the more you use them.
Right now Gemini.com (5 days for ACH or same day for wire deposits) and Cash App (2 or 3 days to get verified then instant) are better choices than Coinbase.
You sound a bit over it but that's the info you need if you want to keep trying. Once established you will like it if you are making regular P2P transfers..Comment -

#18I may give it a go with this bitcoin thing so I will probably have a lot of questions. Sorry and thanks for any help. What is the best wallet to use that has a phone app and is easy to deposit/withdrawal? Also is fast to set up to be able to use? How are wallets "funded?" Do I need to use my bank account or can I use $ order, credit card, etc? I'm sure there will be more but that is all for now.Comment -

Try not to worry about understanding everything about bitcoin before you start. Just do a transfer or two and you will probably think, oh damn, this isn't that much different to Paypal really.
But i'll try to explain briefly.
The first thing you need to decide is how you plan to change dollars into bitcoin and turn bitcoin back into dollars.
The 4 main options for that people are choosing right now are Gemini.com, Coinbase.com, Bitpay.com and a phone app by Square Inc called "Cash App".
Forget Coinbase for now as they are taking a long time to clear deposits.
Cash App is great for buying Bitcoin but not as good for selling it.
Gemini deposits take 5 days to clear if sent by ACH or 1 day if sent by Wire. Wire entails a $10 receive fee plus whatever your bank charges to send them for you ($10-20). ACH is free.
BitPay is only useful to cashout but it's awesome for that. You get a V branded debit card which you can send bitcoin to and it is automaticlaly converted to US$ and almost instantly available to withdraw at a regular ATM or pay for things with like a regular card.
If you want to be clandestine about it there are options like person to person exchanges and bitcoin ATM machines but...
Actually I am probably already going too far.
Here's what I suggest.
1) Setup you personal main wallet on your phone using https://wallet.mycelium.com/
2) Install the Cash App on your phone and get verified. https://cash.app/ This is where you will buy bitcoin for deposits.
3) Once verified at Cash App, buy $10 worth of bitcoin from them and use it buy a https://bitpay.com/card/ to cash out with. (card takes about 10 days to arrive)
One you have that done, the process goes like this;
For Deposits;
1) Use Cash App to buy new bitcoin. Will be instant once verified.
2) Send that bitcoin to your Mycelium wallet.
3) Go to book click deposit and get an address from he book to deposit to.
4) Send it from Mycellium to book.
For Withdraws;
1) Open Mycellium and click receive to get a new receive address.
2) go to book, order a withdraw and give them your receive address.
3) When your bitcoin is sent from book, open the Bitpay site and request a card load. It will open your default wallet (Mycellium) and fill in all the details for you. Check and click send.
4) About 10 mins later you can go to an ATM and take cash. Go to Walmart and buy a M0neyorder to deposit to your bank. Or just use the card to pay bills or buy stuff.Last edited by Optional; 01-05-19, 11:01 AM..Comment -

#21Also, you can buy with a cred card at some places, but its expensive and many banks have barred high interest credit be used to buy bitcoin, after the rush of speculators last December.
Buying with a debit card attached to a bank account, ACH transfer or Wire transfer from your bank account are the main ways to get it.
For cash you can buy it at some Bitcoin ATMs but they are extra expensive. Or at a person to person exchange like localbitcoins.com, which can be scammy if not careful.
Basically, the more anonymous you want your bitcoin transactions to be, the more they are going to cost.
But i think most normal bettors find they don't care too much about that in the end. Same as you dont sit around worried about the IRS asking P2P companies for your transfer data.Last edited by Optional; 01-05-19, 11:27 AM..Comment -

#23optional, saying it takes 10 minutes to get 6 confirmations when you receive bitcoin is pretty inaccurate... a deposit might take 10 minutes (because they only need 1 confirmation, or they grab it before confirmations)
through the kraken, it usually takes at least an hour to get 6 confirmations, and stuff from betonline where they pay such a puny fee can easily take 4 hoursComment
