I’ve seen this on here a few times and just wanted people to know it happened to me too. Went to bed with 2060 in my account woke up with 60. I did reach out to customer service and gave them my security info. Hope it works out. Was just one 2k casino transaction.

#7gotta love books that take 0 responsibility - at the same time the scam is probably set up to confuse the book on who has legitimate claims vs the scammers that are going to be submitting the same claim only falsified. Or the book just got smoked and made it up.Comment -

#12I know it's good practice to switch up passwords occasionally but I rarely do.
Have passwords been compromised? Would changing our password prevent future hacks? Has BOL communicated anything at all about these hacks?Comment -

#13How many times have we heard of a Heritage or Bookmaker account being hacked? I can't even recall one. Yet we see a BOL hack at least once a month.
BOL = high risk, no matter how you slice it.Comment -

Also Tipico for example has a "good" record for a mysterious loss of user data. Do you, by any chance, have an account on there as well, using the same password and e-mail, @justinIrishFan?Comment -

#18Originally posted by lonnie55NO book does it beside some of these A rated Costa Rica based books. I still don't get why they ask for that. Other books ask for a personal PIN but never for your password.
Instead I had one of them asking for front and back of my CC to be send by mail recently though - and with all digits visible of course. Which is completely absurd as well, and a totally unnecessary risk.Comment -

#19Interesting, happened to me today. Went to bed last night around 1am ET or so with $435 in my account after playing a $22 poker tourny. Woke up today, logged in at 3pmish ET and found all but $.50 was gone. Looked into it a little bit and sure enough, someone got into my account and dropped my entire bankroll into PL Omaha. Talked with support and I guess they're escalating it for investigation. I'm not too hopeful on getting my money back though. He played like a donk, but won and lost (ultimately losing obviously) over the period of 2 hours. I RARELY play omaha (maybe once every few months for $50ish, and NEVER for my entire bankroll). I generally only play the $22 progressive bounty and $22 regular every night.Comment -

#22Originally posted by OptionalI'd first try to sort it out directly with them, as you are, if possible.
EDIT: Got a rather quick response asking for more information. The normal "Change your password" (did that right after contacting them about the hack) "Confirm ISP, do you log-in using public wifi/friends wifi, what do you normally use to log-in (tablet, laptop, computer, ect), and how much was lost."
Hopefully this is a sign this will be resolved quickly.
EDIT 2 (11/12/18, 9:30pm ET): Poker account got locked about an hour ago (instead of immediately after I reported the hack for some reason). Contacted support and supposedly this is normal during the investigation. Asked for the hand history of the two PLO games the guy played (since I can't access them anymore, and I was curious if I could determine if he was dumping to someone in particular), but support couldn't give it to me since it's with the fraud department atm. I went over the history myself before it got locked and couldn't find anything obvious (other than the guy was making really weird/bad plays), but with more time maybe I could have.Comment -

#29Originally posted by GradyFusonYeah so you were around back in the days they asked for passwords in chats, I wonder if other hacked accounts were old enough for that too. Thanks for replying
Oh yah, I thought it was fishy as hell but I didn't have a choice if I needed to speak with them. I originally started on PS before it got shutdown in the U.S. Moved to Bovada but didn't like the idea of players being anonymous with player numbers that change instead of unique ID's (too easy to collude imo). Eventually moved to BetOnline and have been using them since. Quick withdraw's and never a hassle about them except once where they said I transferred money to another player so there was a cool down before I could withdraw. Explained to them, pretty sternly, that I don't know anyone else that plays on the site and I certainly didn't transfer any funds to anyone. Withdraw went through 24 hours after that.
It's entirely possible some former (or maybe even current) employees kept that info, but why wait so long to utilize it?Comment -

If it is an inside job then changing passwords wouldn't matter.
If somebody wins a lot, an employee (maybe paid by BOL) just hacks in and loses the money.
That's why us sending money halfway across the globe to a bunch of strangers and expecting them to be "honest" is
ridiculous of us. But plenty of people do it.
I got cheated at one of these places back in SEPT and I hope I learned my lesson.Comment -

#34Originally posted by dariusDTI've thought about this, but overall it doesn't make much sense. They're making free money just by hosting a poker site and certainly making more than they lose in sports. Having a customers account compromised, and not made right, is more likely to have that player never use your site again (for poker or sports). It's a losing strategy for them in the long-run.
I think what is a "losing strategy" is people like us sending our money across the Globe to strangers to gamble,
and then "hoping" they don't cheat us. LOLComment -
