With that sort of money you can buy [insert team you hate], and then shut it down, burn the stadium to the ground and turn it into a rubbish dump.

You got to play to win! I got D. Thomas over 4 receptions for $500,000,000.00. Ok, $15, but its a start. On my 4th cryogenic revival, I should be close to lets see, somewhere between a rock and a hard place because I can't pick an NFL winner for the 5 lives of me Good luck to everyone

Money of that magnitude does not make you happy
It is proven in almost every big lottery winner case (death, suicide , murder, scams)

That type of money causes tremendous problems for people that are not use to having it
It sounds easy to manage that money but not, tons of issues will arise daily and you will never sleep well again

You are probably right, I guess if anyone ever won that type of money a bodyguard/bodyguards is probably a wise idea.

Can't you stay anonymous now?
Only tell immediate family that you trust?
Delete Facebook?
OK... maybe not even tell immediate family that you trust. Just take your winnings and disappear?

It depends on a state. Only Delaware, Kansas, Maryland, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Texas allow you to stay anonymous. But obviously there is a way for folks from other States to stay anonymous. If you win just set up a trust and voila. Nobody knows who you are.

This
A lot of states (including mine) allow an entity to claim it (such as a partnership or company) so just form a trust or an LLC and have a major law firm/accounting firm claim it on your behalf. A lot of states allow an LLC to be formed where the members are anonymous so you can likely set up an LLC in one state where it's private, then have it claim the ticket in your home state.
Just whatever you do, don't sign the ticket immediately because whoever signs it does the press conference, so if you don't want to do it and sign it, you're f***ed. Yes, it's still a bearer instrument, so whoever has possession keeps it, but that's a risk you have to take if you value your privacy when claiming it. Just keep it in a damn safe deposit box and call up a major law/accounting firm to figure out how to best claim it and set up the money in the right spots. This isn't the time to call up some lawyer/accountant in a phone book or your buddy's cousin who's a lawyer/accountant. You want a firm that's used to handling that much money and also has enough malpractice insurance in case something goes hairy.
If having that much money all at once scares you JJ, just take the annuity so you can ease into it.
Christ how would you be able to handle that sort of money.

It's gonna take a lot of time to figure everything out. Obviously you're not going to keep over 500M $ after tax in a Chase bank. You will have to create a diversified portfolio. Stocks, bonds, crypto, businesses, real estate and etc...

Good point about signing a ticket. I remember this story not too long ago:

Yeah seems alot more awesome in theory.

Most people are morons so it stands to reason given that much money they would turn into bigger morons. I can't imagine how that money would curse me, it would make life awesome forever. I'm in for a few tickets, the winner will be some guy like me who thinks he's wasting his money. You can take your 'odds of winning...' scenarios and shove em.
