    BetOnline
Not sure if in the right forum, please move if not. I am trying to figure out a course of action. Last week i noticed my account was drained and cashed out to bitcoin. I have no bitcoin account and not even sure how that works. I had just sent them copy of new address to cash out using check a week prior and this happened couple days later. I am on secure wifi 24/7 when mobile and live alone. No one knows my password or is ever at my place. They said security reviewed and showed no hacking to account. All i have is a bitcoin ID that it was cashed out to in the amount of a little over 5k. I am so frustrated and upset at what to do. Please help.

One thing I wish BetOnline (and a lot of other books) would also do is add 2FA.

What’s the procedure to cash out BTC at betonline? I haven’t used them in a while so I’m unsure. Don’t they send you a text or email before they process to make sure it’s you requesting the withdrawal? If not, then that’s no good!

Youre not the first to make this kind of thread, same response every time from the book yet those employed there are seemingly the only ones with access to all your information.

The lack of professionalism in some sports books is baffling. 2 Factor Authentication is the most obvious thing, which is why bookmaker, heritage and 5dimes have implemented it. I don't use 5dimes at all, but their browser based authentication is like a gold standard. No reason that every serious book shouldn't be like that. How hard is it to send a text before you process a payout?

This calls for the individual to come up with ingenious methods of his own since anything man made can be taken apart, phone and texts can be spoofed, email addresses can be easily found out. A lesser method is not keeping much in there in the first place, when you win a limit youre not hurt too bad if it disappears, then withdraw. Only keep a certain amount in.

TS my post was not to imply there is something going on with the book rather who knows. First things first make sure virus protection up to date along with a firewall. Keep scans up to date(malware, etc.), keep personal info away from those you know in household and outside of household.

There is no reason that consumers should fear that an institution which moves millions of dollars a day should be so rickety that you should fear holding assets there because they might get stolen. Having F2A is the equivalent of locking your doors. Yes, some can still get in if they want to, but it makes it much more difficult when you have to hack text messages and browser authentication.

I don't know why they have not implemented this, simply to save themselves the headache and cost of dealing with these situations.

Update: BetOnline mgt forwarded the issue to the appropriate department. Since that time, the player emailed back to say his balance was credited.

I would hope so. If not, it's pretty clear it is unsafe to store funds there. As much as people complain about 5 Dimes dragging their feet with payouts (and I agree they do), at least you know someone has to have your IP, password and email account in order to get a BTC payout.

So what was the story? Inside theft, or did someone brute force the guy's password?

forgot to add the response but look like it was added for me. Yes full refunds added without much hassle. Very happy. Went ahead and cashed out using money-order option to clear it all off after a good season. First cashout with them and the amount was split into 7 money orders. They said based on the amount max on processors it does that so im like ok.

Now onto another question. The only thing they filled out was payable to and then my name. No purchaser address and purchaser signature. Bank cant deposit without those. Betonline is telling me once money orders are paid for it doesnt matter and i just make up a name and an address. That is the process. Anyone heard of that before i just throw a random name on there, seems weird?

thats great they cleared up...it just great example why they are A book...On the *********** I would put on there a name of someone you know and can trust just in case anything happens...I would also call number on there to verify funds just in case too

It just all seems weird to have to make up a fake address and fake name but that may be protocol. Even if it called for leaving more in account I should have just done couriers check this MO thing is weird unless that’s standard practice.
