#3I just followed up on my order as well. Order placed on April 4th, and CS rep confirmed there are major delays. She said that I can expect the card to arrive 2nd week in May.Comment -

#20Fellas, I noticed the BitPay site offers a wallet. Does this act in the same way that an exchange might? In other words can you transfer USD from your bank to this site's wallet, then maybe move it to blockchain, then to a book and vice versa?
Have had some recent bad luck with other exchange sites. Coinbase is down (at least for me). Gemini and ItBit I just can get verified.Comment -

Maybe have a look at Kraken? It's a trading exchange rather than a full service exchanger like Coinbase/Gemini/ItBit and you have to use wires to fund or withdraw... but the better buy/sell price will probably make up for any fees for that from your bank.
You still have to get verified there too but I havent heard of anyone having trouble or long delays like the other three you mention. (actually havent heard of delays at ItBit before).Comment -

#22No. The Bitpay wallet just takes bitcoin and converts to US$ for the card.

#28What's up, fellas. I have applied for, and am waiting, for a BitPay card. (which has gotten very positive reviews)
From what I've read, it's a convenient way to go from book to Bitpay wallet to Bitpay card to bank.
BOOK > BITPAY WALLET > BITPAY CARD > BANK (for book withdrawals)
Was just thinking, is the opposite route viable?
BANK > BITPAY CARD > BITPAY WALLET > BOOK (for book deposits)
Thanks', brothers.Comment -

Your BitPay card is not connected to your own bank btw. To get from card to bank you either need to withdraw cash from the card and depisut it or maybe buy a Mony Ordr at Walmart and deposit that.
Don't forget you can just pay bills and buy things with it like any other major card too..Comment -

#30No. It's cash-out only method.

#31OK to ask a question about the BitPay Card?
Which of the below bitcoin transfer routes are viable?
A) Book > Blockchain Wallet > BitPay Card > ATM
B) Book > PitPay Wallet > BitPay Card > ATM
Thanks, fellas!Comment -

#32You want to do A, but for a different reason than you do it with Coinbase.
When you send bitcoin to your BitPay wallet it is automatically converted to US$ and available on the card with no more action.
Their 'wallet' is not like a general usage wallet.
When you get a wallet address from your BitPay account to send new funds to them, they give you an exact amount of bitcoin to send. If you send that exact amount it gets credited fast and easy most of the time (I havent seen anyone posting about delayed transfers to them even during this period of delays we are seeing for some people)
BUT... if you send the wrong amount their site says it can take up to 21 days to resolve.
So... the reason you want to do the sending to BitPay from your own Blackcahin Wallet instead of direct from a book is that you can be sure you are sending the correct amount PLUS are a party to the transaction if anything goes wrong, so you can sort it out.
You don't want to be trying to rely on a book to negotiate with BitPay for you over any tx issues..Comment -

I'm exploring as many avenues of "bitcoin transfers" as I can in order to (hopefully) gain an understanding.
Also, it's good for me to have many options in case one wallet or exchange becomes inoperative or cancelled.
Will be careful with exact amounts on the BitPay Wallet.
You might have just saved me a 21 day hassle. Many thanks, brother!Comment -
