Five Sportsbooks to Avoid as Football Season looms

August is a month of excitement for football gamblers whose itch for betting on pigskins is just about to be satisfied. NFL preseason gives bettors and fans alike the first chance to check out how newly added players will perform, even if the games are relatively meaningless. It is also a time when online sportsbooks set their bonus promotions for the year - even the ones to avoid. | Read more

I think the majority of people now proceed with caution at all books. I understand you can't say this, but since people can read poster reviews/comments, it should be said by someone such as me.

It's good to stay away from these and I am kind of shocked that you didn't put sportsbook.com on that list of ones to avoid. It might be a good idea to put a top 10 list of stay away on here I think.

I believe the above mentioned books are literally confiscating money from bettors or finding ways not to pay.

Sportsbook takes forever to pay (2 months or so last I heard from reading some of the forum posts) but I haven't read too much of bettors' money being confiscated. I could be wrong about that, but I believe most complaints have to do with payment speed or reduced limits. Is it a good book for a seasoned bettor who will request multiple payouts? No. But for the average hamburger that's going to throw a c-note or two on a book for a few NFL games and make one withdrawal I could think of worse to go with. My first account was with them, haven't used them since I wised up thanks in part to this site years ago, but I will say that they have the easiest interface to use when you compare them to a lot of the other guys.

By rule of thumb, I stay with 5Dimes and BookMaker since I am in the U.S. I never accept bonuses either.

Can you elaborate how 1v, AB or B33 is actively doing this? I do play there and would like to know. If not that is fine.

Doesn't look like those are, just at risk of going belly up and losing your funds. Was more referring to books #1, 2 & 4.

                  Great info 1-4 but...

actually quite the opposite on #5. Highly suggest if you like money fro college and NFL to post up at that family of books.

Everyone should take SBR's reports seriously.

Secondly, some new people into gambling have no idea SBR exists. Have no idea who to trust... they get on a hot streak and the book doesn't pay. Luck of the draw... really.

Lol sbr shouldn't be taken serious or trusted about anything at this point. I'd be shocked if all the player's money they've recovered in sportsbook disputes even equals 1% of all the money their ratings have lost players over the years.

Any chance you can grade BetRevolution as an F rated book, the last threads I read, they weren't really responding to anything or anybody, seems like F is appropriate.

Hollywoodsportsbook.com Very very underrated book and lines aren't that cookie cutter/generic like most shops. Payouts may take a few weeks but book has paid for many years straight.

Yeah, me too. WSEX, Millenium. The Old JJ was alot sharper than the newer model, although your advice is sound here, but certainly not foolproof.
