When I heard about BI in 2011, I immediately considered their business model to be a joke. But they survived 2011 and SBR had talked so much about their well known, financially secure backers that I deposited and of course wound up getting screwed.

I have to ask you... how much do you guys actually know about bookmaking? I linked a thread before where Justin7 talked about the BI bonus offer as being excessive and that they were gonna get killed by sharps... but then SBR Lou chimed in saying the offer was fine and that SBR had raised BI's rating because SBR had confirmed that the book was very financially secure.

You have one guy on your staff who understands the industry. That's Justin - you know, the only employee you have who could make a profit running a book. The only employee you have who could make a profit playing at one... Will you please, please give him so more pull? He seems to get shot down by the completely clueless upper management on a daily basis. LISTEN TO HIM, HE ACTUALLY KNOWS WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT. The rest of you guys wouldn't know a solid book if it shit on your head.

This is horse shit. Any book just wanting the long term losers (which most of us are) could work something out to accept balances up to a certain amount. Whoever takes it over can cut limits or do whatever they want with the "sharps", and there would be no ill will from anyone if they just said "we'll honor balances up to $5K" or something of the sort. They'd be a savior for most of us.

My limits were $1000 sides/totals. I got hot the last month and more than doubled my balance. Tried to take a 5k check recently but they said "Sandy" knocked out their processor. I got talked down to a couple $975 p2ps instead. Then lucky me I won another $2500 this past weekend to bring my balance to its highest ($10,700). Just a shitty circumstance that I get burned at my highest fig.

My balance was higher than any I have seen mentioned. I would love to get a signficant portion of it back, but you are right that I would hold no ill will towards any entity that swept in and only honored balances up to a certain maximum (assuming it was a third party, not Jon returning or something haha)
