#596I still need to have a proper look at the games but my first impressions are that Kashiwa/Guangzhou game will be too close to call and prob a no play for me. I am also preferring Ulsan to win against Brisbane Roar. No feel on the over/unders in these games either. Could go either way I think. I'll be back soon with my plays.Comment -

#599ACL, ULSAN HYUNDAI vs BRISBANE ROAR
ULSAN HYUNDAI to WIN @ 1.90 - 1.5u
Despite a drop in form of late Ulsan are off to a strong start to their campaign. They won their first three K-League games of the season, even beating other strong Korean teams such as Pahong away 0-1, then demolishing Seongnam 3-0 at home. Their last two K-League games havent been as promising with a loss and a draw but they are still sitting pretty in equal 3rd on the table and only 2 points away from the top spot. Considering their double commitments at the moment, they are doing very well. Ulsan have started solidly in the ACL games with a win at home against Beijing, and a 2-2 away draw against Tokyo FC. Keeping in mind Tokyo travelled to Brisbane and defeated the local team quite comfortably 0-2 speaks volumes i think for how strong Ulsan actually are.
Ulsan have no injuries heading into this game but have 2 suspensions to contend with - defender Kang Ming-Soo & midfielder Lee Ho. I am not sure how much of an effect this will have but IMO it pales into comparison to the changes Roar have been forced to make. Roar played on Saturday in the first leg of the semi final and travelled the next morning to Korea. With the 2nd leg this weekend they have decided to rest several players - Henrique, Murdocca & Stefanutto. Adnan will also be out on suspension. Brisbane have been very strong in the A-League but these changes point to Roar making sure they keep hold of the A-League trophy for a successive year and the ACL games are just secondary. Ulsan should be too strong in this match.Comment -

#605Roar Starting XI: Theoklitos, Smith, Stefanutto, Jurman, Franjic, Paartalu, Berisha, Murdocca, Nichols, Broich, Fitzgerald
bench: Danning, Mundy, Visconte, Brattan, Hingert, Redmayne, Lambadaridis.
Hmm, not what I was expecting. Both Stefanutto & Murdocca named in starting XI. They will be more competitive and trying for the win for sure because of this but I still like Ulsan in this spot.Comment -

brisbane can score goals and their defense without adnan is not the same, so ulsan has an easier chance to score goals too. I'll go with the over again

#618CHELSEA vs BENFICA
CHELSEA to WIN @ 1.71 - 1u
It's been a bad night so far, hopefully champions league is kinder to me. Chelsea are fielding the stronger side and the 1-0 aggregate lead they hold is not enough to sit back and take the draw or loss. I'm happy to back Chelski in this spot.Comment -

MLB, St Louis @ Miami Marlins, 1st Innings - Draw @ 1.70 - 1u
I like taking scoreless or draws in the first innings in MLB early in the season. It usually takes a month or two for the bats to heat up. These two pitches have had a good enough spring training to hopefully not have any first day nerves effect them.Comment -

#627Sorry purple, I went straight to bed after making that play and was too wrecked to get do any sort of semi-intelligent writeup. I was liking Newcastle to win and loved the value being able to get a push if it was a draw. Good to wake up and see a 0-2 Newcastle win!
SEATTLE(Vargas,J) @ OAKLAND(McCarthy,B) 1st Innings Draw @ 1.70 - risking 1u
Vargas & McCarthy on the mound in this one for their 2nd starts of the year. Both were solid in Japan, with vargas the more impressive IMO. Factoring in the hectic start to the season for both teams I can see them taking awhile to get hot with the bats. Both aren't usually high scoring teams either. My only concern for this game is the wind is blowing out into right field so hopefully none of the opening batters connect but with the way both these boys pitched in their openers im confident they can keep them in check.
I also like the Angels to win today but im laying off, too much juice for an opener but Weaver is a gun.Comment -

#628AFL, Sydney v Fremantle
Over 178.5 @ 1.90 - 1u
FREMANTLE +7.5 @ 1.91 - 1u
Fremantle looked very impressive against Geelong last week and IMO will be a real contender this year. A top 4 finish will most likely be out of the question but they will easily makes the finals and will be a force to reckoned with if they stay healthy.
SCG games have commonly been low scoring, at the SCG, but out of the 8 games played their last year, 4 did go over the 178 mark. More importantly, the Sydney/Freo clash @ the SCG went over this total too. And taking into account the attacking & high scoring start to the season I can see this game covering the total comfortably.
The SCG used to be a scary place to go for Fremantle but that has changed recently, winning their last 2 games against Sydney at the venue. Mundy is back for Freo and will be huge out of the middle and I don't see the recent trend changing. Add in the fact that teams coming off a bye early last year were usually slow out of the gates and Sydney's goal kicking yips against GWS 2 weeks ago, I see Fremantle winning straight up but will take the points for a little buffer.Comment -

AFL game has turned to shit; going under and no way Freo will cover the spread the way they are playing.
