I think Meyer was on the over too, giving it to Berisha for missing the sitter!

Already pulled the trigger on MV to WIN @ 2.60.

Hernandez on bench is hard to understand yeah, he seems to be a little out of favour at MV. I think he is low on fitness hence why he is starting on the bench. I'd rather they start him and then sub him later on though.

I think he has been better lately, but he is hopeless at finishing. And he is constantly getting trapped offside. Positioning and awareness needs a lot of improvement.

He seems like he is not interested to play at times, as you're saying , his positioning sucks ... he is not ready to accept a pass most of the time and thats why his teammates did not pass the ball to him that often tonight. and that goal he got, the GK should've saved it...

Good points, all true from what I've seen of him, and apart from that he can't control his temper. I think he missed that late sitter because he got pissed at the ball for not getting to him fast enough . . . so he kicked the hell out of it to pay it back.

I want to back Sydney tonight but I don't trust them to get it done so I might just play the draw. Besides, Newcastle's record might be terrible but lately they've been doing alright against some of the top sides in the league (draw with Central Coast at Bluetongue, 1-0 loss to Wellington, win over Brisbane).

hmmm I'm thinking of taking the under here, jets are pretty defensive team, if they score a goal they'll park the bus for the rest of the match. But then again ,if I take the under, there will be like 10 goals

I think your play is safe.

I always like to take it conservative. I was thinking take the Jets Win but when I can get decent value and cover the draw I will always take it.

Yep, certainly didnt expect that kind of domination. I would have expected Jet to park the bus like the did last week once they got 2 goals up. But they stopped very open.

Hey lads. Haven't checked in this thread yet, surprisingly.

Being from Perth, I don't trust Glory in this spot and would NEVER lay juice with Glory. It seems like a bit of a trap game.

Hi Gee, i was about to say pretty much the same thing. Glory is far from full strength for this game, a few key defenders missing for them which will show I think. Over is the most likely play for me or GCU AH, but that is juiced too much IMO.

Hope you stayed away from the AH.

Glory should have won 7-0 (with those easy misses to Smeltz in the 1st half).

I gotta give them some credit - they are actually playing some good soccer, although GCU looked like they just wanted to go home. I didn't actually know that they had been away since 31 January (to Tassie, then Perth). That is a brutal road trip and something A-League players are not used to. Easy to say now, but I definitely would have had a few units on Glory if i'd known...

Yeah, Perth played very nicely. I am surprised by their depth, and they are working well as a unit, and confidence must be very high at the moment. I was aware about their travel schedule but read they went straight to Perth after Tassie game so I thought they would be rested enough, but they certainly looked as if they were not interested at all.

The other thing to keep in mind is that any team on an extended break, anything over 10 days, has come out flat on the next game.

I've noticed that trend on the longer break.

I think lengthy periods away from home are always going to be an issue for a whole squad.

Its different if you are going on a tour or to a World Cup, but to spend over a week living out of a hotel to play a mid-season A-League match has to be tough. Whilst they would have been rested in the sense of not being immediately after a long flight, its just unsettling. Whilst on a different scale, its the same for when I have to travel for work.

Anything thoughts on the MV vs Central Coast game this evening?

One would think CCM would win this game, but I think there has to be a question mark over them until they get their young regulars back from Olympic duty. Especially goalkeeper Mat Ryan.

re. Melb Victory, Leijer & Kewell are carrying injuries but should be good to go. Brebner out on red card & new signing Ubay Luzardo apparently not cleared yet to play.

I see a high scoring game, with leaky defences on both sides. at the moment, leaning:
Both to score @ 1.72
or Over 2.5 @ 1.90

Melbourne have struggled to score goals these past few games and ccm are missing bozanic(or whatever his name is). Vs Brisbane they played very bad and even though they had so many chances in the first half they couldn't score... I don't like the over tbh, but hey its Australian league so anything can happen
