PLAY #118: [ARGENTINA PRIMERA] VELEZ SARSFIELD-TIGRE UNDER 2.5 [+108] Velez sits in 2nd place in Argentina while Tigre is closer to the bottom, but safe from being in relegation talk right now. Tigre has not played well on the road with just one win in eight matches with two draws and the rest losses. Six of those eight though have finished at two goals or less. Tigre's offense is to blame for most of that as they have gone scoreless in three straight on the road and five of eight road matches overall. That does not bode well against Velez which has allowed just one goal at home in seven matches. To me, that puts all the goal scoring pressure on Velez here. While they have scored 15 goals at home, six came in one match and they have only scored three or more twice at home. Tigre has also given up more than two goals just once on the road this season. If Velez keeps their defense tight at home, I think this is a 1-0 or 2-0 set-up for the home team.

That is just fundamentally dirty pool. No more goals from the team that has the advantage, but the team with a man down scores in the 90th minute. 2-1. Dirty. Dirty. I am owed tomorrow futbol Gods.

MAn that sucks..Hope the europa treats you better..
Usual hope here, split and profit. Sampdoria and PSV I like here as Sampdoria is a tough home team that rarely loses at home, while the Dutch visitors rarely lose on the road. They drew when they met in Holland thanks to a 90th minute goal from PSV. PSV knows a result on the road will see them through the group stages. The Croatians and Greeks are both still in position for the 2nd spot in Group G behind Zenit St.Petersburg who is already through. Anderlecht is tied with Split for 2nd. That means a draw would not be the worst case for either squad today to keep their hopes alive with Anderlecht playing in Russia today. Pitch conditions could also be conducive to a very careful match as heavy rain could leave both squads unwilling to take big risks.

PLAY #119: [EUROPA LEAGUE] SPORTING LISBON-LILLE OVER 2/2.5 [-113] Sporting is in control of this group with Lille sitting in 2nd, four points back and just a point ahead of Levski Sofia & Gent .. so this is an important clash. Sporting won on the road in France, 2-1 when these two met in September. Sporting has seen a flood of goals at home against the other two members of this group with five each against Levski Sofia & Gent with just one conceded. Lille meanwhile have scored and conceded in three out of the four group matches and have scored in all four group matches with one clean sheet. Lille has scored and conceded in all but two of their last 15 overall with both of those coming at home where they scored 1-0 wins. I think both sides should be primed to score here and the attacks of both indicate a 3rd goal is a good possibility today.

Well this day couldn't have been any worse. 0-fer, not even waiting for Sporting & Lille to finish, if I'm lucky maybe a late goal to make it a half stakes loss ... but late goals have F-ed me this week, so why would I get any today?
PLAY #120: [EGYPT PREMIER] SMOUHA +0.5/+1 [+108] Smouha despite being at the bottom of the table is playing its best futbol currently with results in three straight Premier League matches. That includes a road win and a road draw with the 2nd place team in the league. At home, Smouha has not won a match this season, but does own four draws to go along with two losses. Only one loss had come by more than one goal. Their opponent, Al Ahly, do own three road wins, but they have failed to get a result in their last two. They have not won a road match by more than one goal this season. The defending league champs just made a managerial change and this will be his first official league match in-charge. Turning to a new formation and manager, Ahly could take a couple matches to be at their best and I think that could work into Smouha's favor today for a draw. Balls deep in Egypt.
PLAY #121: [EUROPA LEAGUE] BORUSSIA DORTMUND-KARPATY UNDER 3.5 [+100] True, the first meeting between these two had seven goals but today is a different day with a different situation. Karpaty has not scored a goal in Europa League play in three matches since the first meeting with the German side. Karpaty's defense remains suspect as they have conceded 11 total goals in four EL matches. Dortmund for their part have tightened up with just two goals allowed in three matches, while they have scored just one goal. Dortmund also sports injury concerns with striker Lucas Barrios out likely along with playmaker Kagawa. The Germans must win to keep their hopes alive for advancement, so I don't expect they'll mess around today even with the injuries, but a 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 win is just as good as a 10-0 win for them today at home. Karpaty has not been a good travelling side in the EL group stages with no goals scored. Dortmund should be focused today with the injury concerns and knowing they played too loose vs. the Ukrainians back in September. I expect Dortmund to find the full three points, but I also expect it will be done without a total pounding. If they keep a clean sheet, I am hopeful the worst case will be 3-0.

Sorry I didn't get that until now. BATE-Kiev is really the only one I liked as a draw today. Maybe coupled with Villarreal-Zagreb. But I am probably standing clear of draws today. Looking at one play for the next batch of matches, but still doing some research on it.

PLAY #122: [EUROPA LEAGUE] PALERMO-SPARTA PRAGUE OVER 2.5/3 [-108] Rain expected in Palermo for this one, so take that for what it's worth. The Italian side are in desperation mode if they are to give themselves a chance to get out of the group stages. They have lost three of the four matches in this group, conceding three goals in each of the losses. Their best scoring output was against this Sparta Prague outfit on the road in a 3-2 loss. For Sparta, a win guarantees them a spot in the KO stages while a draw would keep them in line for advancement. The Czechs have scored three goals in three of four in the group stages and conceded in each with multiple goals given up in three of the four. These are two teams that love to attack, so expect plenty of chances on a wet pitch.
PLAY #123: [EGYPT PREMIER] ISMAILY-WADI DEGLA OVER 2.5 [-127] Ismaily is in a good goal scoring groove with eight over their last three matches, while conceding in nine of their eleven Premier League clashes this season. At home, they have tallied multiple goals in four of their five hosted matches with only one clean sheet. Wadi Degla has scored at least once in five of their last six overall. On the road, they have scored in five of six and conceded in the same amount. Eight of Ismaily's eleven matches have hit for three goals or better while Wadi Degla have seen totals of three or more in half of their twelve matches played although many of those came early in the season. Ismaily has shown the ability to score against any Premier League squad, so I expect they will be the key to getting this OVER done if it's to be done. Wadi Degla has shown a propensity for yielding and scoring second half goals, so even if it's scoreless at the half ... let's keep the faith!
PLAY #124: [PORTUGAL LIGA] BENFICA -1.5/-2 [-119] Benfica has won five straight at home since dropping their home opener this season. They have not allowed a goal in that five game span. They have won four of those five by at least two goals. Their opponent, Olhanense, is winless on the road in six tries. They have managed a few draws, but those have come to lower tier opponents. The best team they played on the road is top of the table Porto whom they lost to 2-0 where it appears Porto was content with their 2-0 half time lead and put it on cruise control the rest of the way. Olhanense has conceded in four of their five road matches. With Benfica in great home form, I think it is realistic to see a 2-0 or 3-0 victory today.
PLAY #125: [ENGLAND PREMIER] BLACKBURN-WOLVERHAMPTON OVER 2.5 [-106] Wolves routinely have conceded multiple goals on the road with that mark being met by the opposition in six of seven roadies this season. Blackburn has seen totals hit three goals or more in six of their last seven EPL matches. Blackburn have not been the steadiest of offensive squads, but they do have four goals in their last two home matches. Blackburn will be eager to show better at home after a bitter defeat to Manchester United [7-1] last match. If the Wolves can get on the scoresheet, I think Blackburn does the rest.
