Chelsea well known for getting outplayed in finals and still managing to hoist european cup trophies somehow

I highly doubt that, but impossible is nothing.

Benefica played better but this is cause every time Chelsea tryed to get something offensively, benefica players would foul. Its crazy how many times chelsea players were being held and fouled when they had good advantage offenseive plays. And no yellow cards. Terrible officiating

There could have been 5 or 6 goals in the second half. The missed handball....the bad call late on the take down which should have been a PK..the ball of the post....the mad scramble at the end....

Yep. When torres was fouled it should have been a PK. Sure it was "soft", but so was that handball call against Chelsea for the equalizer PK

I was on Chelsea but come on Andy, nothing soft about that handball. No reason to have his arms fully extended while midair. Appropriate call. Helped those of us on the over too

Lol yea it was a PK no doubt about it, but theres some refs who wouldnt call that. Im just saying, if the ref is going to call a PK so easily, he should have called the Torres one, I mean all Torres had to do was turn and kick the ball in, but he was held and tripped. It was an obvious PK. Like I said terrible inconsistent officiating. But glad we all cashed

After 6 missed European Finals could this be the one? Could they break the curse after soo many times?

The article states that the he said the curse because of a pay rise, but there's another story that states that he was promised a statue in front of the stadium, that wasn't done, hence the curse.
Seems like this curse thingy is for real, now we know for the future, if they make it to another final put your entire bankrolls on the opposition

Yeah its for real. 7 final lost after the curse, amazing.

For those who don't know many Benfica supporters go to his grave (in Hungary) to ask for the curse to be broken. Even Eusebio on a day before the last final against AC Milan in the 1990 CL, went there fell on his knees and cried for the curse t be broken. Such a powerfull image and such a devotion.

I get what you're saying. The sad fact is, flopping has been rewarded for so long, when a player fights through the contact and tries to make a play it isn't called, even if he was legitimately fouled. Torres might have been better served to hit the deck soon as he turned, which is sad, and counter to what any athlete who grows up playing a sport would do instinctively. The diving, acting, exaggerating, is all taught. Won't stop until game tapes are reviewed and every guilty player and his team is hit with a hefty fine.

first of all i had under 2.5 so i accept my loss. But that goal was absurd, it wasn't a quick flick, it was a long looping header. The goalkeeper just stood there looking at it. There has to be some kind of investigation, like i said i accept my loss and certainly wasn't my first loss, but either the goalie was thinking the ball had no chance and was wide or he was in on something. The odds would have been pretty good at that stage of the game.

                                                    JUST A THOUGHT
