You playing soccer as a kid has nothing to do with the rules and regulations of proffesional football. That was a blatant red card. You obviously don't watch much soccer.

It had nothing to do with whether the other player was hurt or not. It was the danger he put the other player in. It was a dangerous tackle, which in other circumstances could have broken the other player's leg.
