Here's something that would be nice.
I click on a message with 4 posts on it. It remembers how many posts there were the last time I read that thread.
Later, I click on a (new) button. This takes me to the middle of the thread, and assumes I read all the posts last time I looked at the thread. This would make it MUCH easier to keep following threads that get long.
