Worldwide market share for smartphones
Android and Apple devices dominate in smartphones, with 85 percent of the worldwide market combined, according to research firm IDC. Apple should get a boost during the holiday season with a new iPhone announced Wednesday.
Companies making Android devices include Samsung Electronics Co., HTC Corp. and Motorola Mobility, which Google now owns. Samsung also makes phones running Bada, which is based on Linux. Nokia has traditionally relied on Symbian, but it is now banking its future on Windows.
Here are IDC's figures for worldwide smartphone unit sales and market share in the second quarter of 2012, by operating system.
— Android (Google Inc.) — 104.8 million units, 68.1 percent share (46.9 percent a year earlier)
— iOS (Apple Inc.'s iPhone) — 26.0 million units, 16.9 percent share (18.8 percent a year earlier)
— BlackBerry (Research in Motion Ltd.) — 7.4 million units, 4.8 percent share (11.5 percent a year earlier)
— Symbian (mostly used by Nokia Corp.) — 6.8 million units, 4.4 percent share (16.9 percent a year earlier)
— Windows (Microsoft Corp.) — 5.4 million units, 3.5 percent share (2.3 percent a year earlier)
— Linux — 3.5 million units, 2.3 percent share (3.0 percent a year earlier)
— Others — 0.1 million units, 0.1 percent share (0.5 percent a year earlier)

I have a Samsung note running on android software. Its supposed to be a beast if u look at the specs. Would kill iphone in every category. Its the software that makes It shit. I agree. I have the phone as well. My friends all say it's better than their Iphones.
But you said Android is a more popular phone, when I just asked how you came to that conclusion, when all you see is people flaunting their Iphones, like it's some sort of fashion statement. I would say Iphone is still way more popular than Android, but I have never looked into it.
Best thing about the phone is holding down that camera button and taking 30 simultaneous shots, and the battery life is 3X better than the OG EVO.Comment -

There has been about 5 different EVO's. I had the original, which I believe was one of the first 4G phones available. Now I have the newest one, which is probably one of the better phones out there...And yes it blows away the S3, I know because I've used them both plenty. The only thing the S3 is better at is low light pictures IMO...Other than that, the whole phone sucks.Comment -

I'm going with the i5 because Im not really into buying all new apps and could give a fuk about transferring everything over. Called my local AT&T provider and they laughed when I asked if they'd be in stock next week. Said they got 5 per store when the 4s came out
