Didn't CNBC do a special on counterfeit cigarettes? They said these online companies put all kinds of poisons in them and that they are not the real deal.

Get dip in pouches. 100-10000x less risk, basically invisible, cheaper, flavored, the list goes on and on. I haven't smoked a cigarette in over 3 months. I guess you kind of effed in Conn. cause no states around there are cheap. When I lived in PA, it was much cheaper, but WV 1.5 hours away was about a buck fifty less.

I'd be careful using websites to purchase tobacco products as it's considered tax evasion based on some state regulations. You are basically buying tobacco products without paying state and/or federal excise taxes. The reason why they are cheaper. I am an owner of three tobacco stores in Kansas, I recently had a couple come in to my store saying they received a letter from the Kansas Dept. of Revenue saying they owed the State 1,100 and change for evading tobacco taxes. If they didn't play within 30 days, penalties would be accessed and possible criminal sanctions. The Kansas excise tax is currently .79 per pack which is one of the lowest in the US. The couple got away with this for over a year before they received a letter. This the second time I have heard of this happening.
What happens is states periodically obtain purchase and shipping records (how they get your name and address) from various online dealers; which they have legal rights through various tobacco legal settlements and most importantly the Family Tobacco Prevention Act signed by Obama in 2009. States perform these acts for their own benefit of course, but also in compliance with federal money they receive if they stay compliant. I know Kansas, Michigan, and NY routinely do this, not so sure about other states.
