I went to a sports heavy school here in Ottawa named St. Peter CHS. If you could play, this is where you went; whether it was basketball, football, hockey, rugby, baseball or whatever. St. Pete's was the powerhouse of Ottawa and we took down city titles every year in almost every sport.

No matter what though, the football team always reigned supreme. We were the heart of the schools athletic program, always garnering more funding and recognition for the school than any of the other teams.

Girls wanted us, guys wanted to be us. We were the best team around... a legacy of sorts. So in my senior year, when we won our third straight city football championship, we weren't satisfied. We had long decided before the season even started that our goal was to win a state championship. And we did.

You guys ever think back on the good ol' days?

3.5 tackles, 1 INT, 1 knockdown, no touchdowns given up... not a bad stat-line for a corner; but the stat that matters was in the win column.

Lifting weight does not make you an athlete... Lets see you run the ladder, toss a ball around, etc.

good old days were never as good as you thought they were

even if you won the state championship and were the envy of everyone, being 14-18 isn't really all that fun. always worried about school, parents bugging you, money, girls, etc

life at 38 is a lot better imho, i can pretty much do whatever i want

I used to be faster than Emily Haines even.

ran a few sub 15 minute 5k's in High School.

that is 4:47 mile pace for 3.1 miles

Now I'd be lucky to finish a mile in under 15 minutes
