Donald Trump filed a lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal and its publisher, Dow Jones & Company, seeking at least $10 billion in damages.

This lawsuit was filed in federal court in the Southern District of Florida on July 18, 2025.
The lawsuit alleges that The Wall Street Journal defamed Trump by publishing an article claiming he sent a "bawdy" birthday letter, including a drawing of a naked woman, to Jeffrey Epstein in 2003.
Trump denies writing the letter, calling it "false, malicious, and defamatory". The lawsuit also names News Corp., its chair emeritus Rupert Murdoch, CEO Robert Thomson, and the two reporters who wrote the story, Khadeeja Safdar and Joe Palazzolo, as defendants.
