Further, Trump may win this in the political sphere. If/when it goes to trial, he will be convicted, of that there is little doubt. But if a R wins in 2024, he will probably be pardoned. And Trump will just say it was rigged and political and now they gotta go after all the D's.
So Trump is in an interesting position. Yes, of course, he wants to delay the trial and win the election. But the second best option is electing another R who will be inclined to pardon him.
