I wrote a few pages back that Isaac's comments were on point, ALTHOUGH research has already shown that getting the vaccine even after getting Covid offers better protection. I think the US should really look at 3 classifications. Vaccinated, unvaccinated and previously exposed. It will probably takes some time before we really know how long and how effective vaccinated and previously exposed people are. I don't think we should classify previously exposed people as "unvaccinated". I also don't think they should be subject to vaccine mandates. But you have to confirm that you've actually been exposed and have the antibodies. A lot of people got the sniffles and thought they got Covid.

Right now, the unvaccinated (which includes a lot of kids) is the only reason we haven't reached herd immunity. We are almost there. There really isn't a need to politicize this thing anymore.

Because there's been several cases of people getting covid a 2nd, 3rd time and the outcomes were not good. Several people have died and a lot hospitalized, so just because you beat it the first time does not guarantee you beat it a 2nd time. The risk of getting the shot is EXTREMELY low. Look at the data. But like I said, it's time to get the politics out of Covid. Use common sense. If someone has the antibodies, they should be categorized with the vaccinated. We shouldn't be putting them through hoops. It's the unvaccinated and never exposed that are at the most risk. Many our are kids.

I just have a few questions for you. And let me say up front, I'm not anti-vax. But I'm 100% for freedom of choice. If you are a firm believer in the vax, by all means get it. Get it multiple times. Get it daily. Get it multiple times per day. If that floats your boat, go for it. I don't care. It affects me in no way whatsoever. That's your choice and that's called freedom. Can you not respect another person's freedom and personal choice in the same way?

So you're going to say another person who doesn't get the vax is putting your life at risk....right? So get the vaccine and you'll be protected.. NO? If you're not protected, then why get the vaccine and why try to force an ineffective vaccine on someone who doesn't want it?

As previously stated...I had covid before it had a name. Went to drs. after i thought was over it. My mom got a shot of something strong but being a cheapskate I told them NO when they asked me if I wanted a shot. The shit was in my system for 20 months doing damage to my heart. The reason I know it was covid is I give blood for free. am diabetic so it is a donation. They sent me a letter asking for my plasma. Seems when they tested my blood that I have the antigens. 20 months later as i was doing my 5 miles walk I felt a trembling in my heart. nwxt day ambulance delivered me to methodist.Spent 4 days in hospital. From feb 24 thru may 30 and june 15 to june 20 in hospital.I have reached my 10,000 out of pocket for the year.

Now if i would of paid the 35 co pay and got the shot I would still be able to walk.

Down in Texas our gov. is against the vaccine but we find out he had been vaccinated last year. When I went to grade school they made me get vaccinations. When i went into the army they made me get others at ft. benning.when i travel they make me get vaccinations.

my step brother took that shit that trump is peddling and was cured after he got covid.

There's truth to that but you're leaving out the part that having the virus naturally gives you substantially higher antibodies vs the vaccine.

Getting the shot on top of natural immunity obviously boosts the antibodies a bit, but they are already greatly higher vs the vaccine so not even necessary.

I respect everyone's choice to be stupid. You won't find one post here where I begged anyone to take the shot. Should you take it? Yep, am I going to lose sleep if you don't? It's a free country. You can choose to wear or not wear a seatbelt.

I've been around a bunch of people that had Covid. It doesn't bother me because I've been vaccinated. BUT, you are putting others at risk if they can't be vaccinated, like young kids or if you take up precious hospital beds. You think the vaccines are ineffective. Good for you. Do you really think the measles vaccine would have been effective if half the people didn't take it? It takes cooperation to rid a pandemic. Buth hell, I'm not in the convincing business. You do you. But I know Moderna works first hand.

When the pandemic first started, I said in these forums that we could kick Covids ass if we all just quarantined for 2/3 weeks. It really is that easy BUT too many selfish people who can't/work work together, most of them in Washington. You can't flatten a curve when people don't give a shit.

I do think for myself. The government is not telling you what I just told you. That we are looking at a steady decline in Covid and we're just a few months away from this being an afterthought. We are very close to herd immunity.
