I was just looking over Daniels games vs Toptal... holy crap! These games are great! Daniel did a great job exploiting some mediocre sideplay and working his way back into these games... Could this be a sweep??

Yeah, that's tough to tell if you could have won. I assume it was #38 you wish you could do over. I think you were going to have to move into that spot anyway because he had those 2 free moves in the upper left area. And because he had that lower right section of the board blocked off so well I'm not sure if #38 done differently would have changed anything.
I just went through that game and here are a few notes.
#13 for Purple
You should have attempted the Open 2 from the top of that wall instead of the bottom. That way it would have been impossible for him to force you into a UE and you likely could have got the Open 2 on your next move.
#28 Purple
I think this move probably cost you the game. You should have moved to the spot just up and to the left of where you moved. You lost at least a move in that whole exchange.
Your next several moves were very good and that's about all I could find. Great game!

Yeah, in 2007 my nephew swept me in the finals and in 2008 there was a player named SAN from Japan that swept me in the finals as well.
I hadn't played in any tourneys since 2008 until 2020. I don't think I've ever lost 2 games in a Hexversi tourney that I won though. Ryan brought his A game in the last round, should be another good one.
Back when I used to play 6x6 tourneys I would sometimes split with Toptal or Came Dude in the finals several rounds in a row. Hopefully that won't happen here.Comment -

I managed to take down Ryan. In the game where I am Purple, I really smoked him on that left-hand side, getting 4 of the 5 spots in that section of the board. Starting with move 22:
He didn't have a chance after that.
The game where I am Green was a good one! Ryan is really good at blocking moves that I am trying to get. I think this was a key move for me... Move 26 for Green
I thought I could coast after that but by move 33 I didn't like any of my available options. I ended up choosing what I felt was the least worse. What would you guys have done here on #33?
I think move #35 won me the game because it allowed me to gain a move on that far right side.
Great games for sure! I thought we were going to split there for a minute.
This tourney was a lot of fun! Lots of great games. I plan on organizing another tourney within the next week or so. I am hoping you guys will join.
