Not implausible. Years ago , I heard Matthews on his show, and it was clear they were friendly. I believe it was prior to GW Bush's first election. Matthews said he didn't know who he would vote for. Rush teased that when Matthews pulled the curtain, he would always vote Democrat.
Liberals will turn on anyone, even their biggest advocates. The stuff about the Nazi's taking France was totally taken out of context. A third grader could have seen that as total BS. Shocking news! The libs are offended again!

Matthews voted for W in 2000. Was a fan of HW and thought mistakenly his foreign policy would mirror his dad. I believe there is a YouTube video out there explaining why he voted for him and how he felt duped. Loved his quote about phony liberals how they profess to love mankind, just no one in particular.
