Everything is SMART PHONES and APPS for smart phones.. Seems like the cheapest alternative to get online for those that can't afford computers these days are smart phones....

I hope this drives down the pricing of laptops if so!!!

Welcome to 2016. That's been the trend for years dude. This would have cost you $1000 just a couple years ago

I don't understand how people can use tablets or phones for most things. Desktop with multiple monitors is always the way to go.

Over 50% of all web traffic is mobile (and growing). Majority of people (outside of gamers and power office users) have no need for dual screen setups.

I don't doubt it. But I'm in my 20's and still never use my phone and certainly don't use tablets. It's just way easier to use my desktop. Even when I'm travelling I bring an external monitor for use with my laptop.

I have a dual monitor desktop for my work, but the future is definitely small screen (compared to 2 monitors) and mobile.

Anyone with a website that isn't responsive (doesn't auto adjust for tablets or phones) might as well be trying to get you to invest in Blockbuster.

I thought that number would be far more then 50% today.. Alll the low income people in America get those cheap GO PAY cell phones and pay cash every month and use those phones to get on the internet.. They don't have computers, wifi and or tablets at home..

The A+ rated book I use has no payout option on mobile but has a deposit option, or at least for me it doesn’t. So I’m still having to use my laptop to do cash outs. I only use one site so I’m curious do other A+ books let you cash out using mobile? Thanks

Not obsolete, just a little more niche and probably geared towards gaming (and by gaming I don't mean Candy Crush)

I think more technology and money will be pouring into smart phone development and designs.. That's where the money is at.. Look for Smart phones to get REALLY SMART in the future.

The latest smart phones like the Apple i-phone 11 are already pretty impressive and VERY expensive... https://www.amazon.com/s?k=apple+iph...aa_scomp_srdg2

The iPhone 11 was introduced in September 2019, and Apple has continued selling it as a lower-priced option alongside subsequent iPhone generations,...

That's my end take to starting this thread..

Desktops will continue to decline, but laptops I think will still have a demand. Not as portable as a cell phone, but there's something to be said about having a 14-15 inch screen to multi-task and have a full interface which can sometimes be much easier to maneuver than a cell phone when you're trying to look at a lot of information at once, but yet still be decently portable where you don't have to be completely tethered to a wall outlet 24/7.

^^ Older people like to look at big screens so that will keep 17" laptops going for a while. Same with Desktops but eventually we could see them start to faze out..

Also older people aren't newer tech friendly.. You get use to something and get familiar with it you don't like learn a new device or system after that..

I can cash out at wagerweb, betnow, intertops and betagame all on my phone. None of those are A+ books though.

My job would be near Impossible without two full sized screens. Cell phones are fine for consuming content for the lowIQ masses but if you build content or likes to do more interesting things with the coolest thing mankind has ever invented then you need screens bigger than what can fit in your pocket.

I agree, I do most of my business and work on my 17" laptop at home..

Smart phone internet use are good for when you are the move and need to check scores and or emails in real time. Smart cell phones are great for on the road and when driving and need navigation, traffic updates, quickest routs, etc..

Still cell phones are to small and just suck for typing posts on SBR like I am doing now on my Laptop at home. My cell phone goes to sleep when I'm at home when it comes to internet use..

Try to do accounting or engineering without a computer and tell me how it works? Very few businesses do business by just using apps. In fact you need a lot of computers to design an app.

Laptops will continue to be popular but I see desktops going away eventually (years down the road). It's relatively new but you can connect internal desktop parts to external high-speed ports on laptops. This is coupled with the fact that technology naturally gets smaller so there will be little reason to have a desktop box. External displays and input devices will ALWAYS be relevant though. It's hard to replace large screens and physical keys
