50 year celebration of the planet of the apes!

Not sure how many people like that show but man I loved them. I can remember watching them years ago. Years back when we had block Busters everywhere, I remember renting all of them and when my son was young we sat down and watched them all. So yes I’m a big Planet Of the Apes fan myself.

I thought the original Planet Of The Apes movie with Charlton Heston riding along the beach to discover The Statue of Liberty sticking out the sand was one of the best surprise twist endings ever, seeing it the first time as a 10 or 11 year old.

mike, I have to give u a few comments on the women in the movie:

1) Heston's human mate Linda Harrison is a smoke-show!

2) It was funny to hear Heston say that the female astronaut (Stewart) was supposed to be the modern-day Eve. And that the male astronauts were going to provide seed, lol.

3) Classic scene when Heston kisses the Doctor. "You're so damn ugly."

You bet, mike. I thought the guy gave a very fair review. And he's right about the VHS box...how can u put the spoiler right on the box?

Mike, I love the original movie. Thought it was very well done.

Thing about movies is...the more u inspect them, the more flaws one can think up. In this movie, there's the whole aspect of time-travel and how they would have wound up there. Have to remember that it's sci-fi and intended for entertainment.

As for the final scene, I think the reviewer did a very good job of presenting the possibilities. I don't think the viewer can really draw any clear conclusion about the Lady standing in 200 feet of sand and next to a rock-cliff. Oh well, it's sci-fi.
