Pay people what they are worth. I make you an offer, you either A) accept because it is equal or greater to your value or B) do not accept because it is less than your value
Is this really that complicated???Comment -

There are currently 6 million job openings out there(a record).
Get vocational training. There are PLENTY of good jobs but you can't blame Bacon, Trump, your parents. Wake up tomorrow and take a good look in the mirror. You can be a crying lib hoping someone will pay you more than you're worth(living wage) OR you can make your self valuable and in no time be earning $70k a year.
Don't have dementia...yet. Thanks for your concern. I'm your dose of reality. You ain't gonna get paid more than you're worth. Make yourself worth more.
You forget who I am and what I told you about myself. But I remember you well. You are a corporate sell out. Very simple. You dont care what is best for this Country. Only what is best for you. I get it. Some people dont have the ability to walk in someone else's shoes. Its a terrible character flaw. You should work on that it would make you a more successful happier person.
Who are you to dictate what a job you never did is worth ? Just because a corporate puppet like yourself decides this job should not pay a livable wage doesnt make it true. The type of work that takes place at Amazon used to be enough to live a decent life. At some point you and corporate jack offs like you decided those jobs pay shit now. Until you realize those are facts. You will be the out of touch guy on SBR who forgets how life used to be when companies took care of hard workers.Comment -

You will never be able to "regulate" a business to pay you more than you are worth. Working in an Amazon sort facility is pure-D unskilled labor. But you can drive that package for UPS and make $80k a year.
For whatever reason libs struggle with the idea that a business "should" pay a person more than they are worth. You used Walmart last time. WMT obviously doesn't have to pay more to staff its business. They ain't a charity, they are responsible to their shareholders, the fuggers who put up all the money and hired them to run a profitable enterprise.
And ideas that would actually raise wages like lower taxes you fuggers are against. Which is one reason you guys keep losing.
So there ya go. Truth and reality in a mostly respectful delivery.Comment -

#84Its not complicated Roy. In order for you to make a profit & stay in business, you could never pay someone what their worth. That's how capitalism works. Its not an insult, that's the system we live in.

I've hired a lot of fuggers. Had more than a few say no, I need more money. So that guy was worth more than I was willing to pay and he went his way and probably found what he thought he was worth.

Back to production. In order for you to hire a worker he has to produce more than your willing to pay him. Say he produces $100 dollars a day. His worth is $100. Are you going to pay him a $100 dollars a day? Of course not.Comment -

#95Anyone who has browsed this thread should notice the left has almost no conception of how business works with respect to employees.
They want the employees to be treated like hybrid shareholders. Enjoy & share in the fruits during good times but bare none of the risk or upfront investment.
The only scary part is they would pursue this what they call social-economic justice even knowing it would have catastrophic consequences. Why? Because they would rather have a severe depression and social-economic justice than a thriving "unjust" economy.
To create this impossible social-economic Marxist like utopia you would need HEAVY government regulation. Regulating what the CEO makes down to the janitor. And you need heavy taxes to fund this huge government. Just the absolute complete opposite of what Trump is doing.
So if you see these neo-socilaists or economic justice warriors becoming unhinged the above explains why.Comment -

#96Let's say I own a taxi company. I hire a driver. He books $100 a day. Do I pay him the full $100, or do I deduct the cost of the car, the insurance, the maintenance, the fluids, car parts, medallions, etc? At the end of the day, if the taxi driver doesn't like that I took money out of his book, he is free to pay for all that stuff and start his own company.Comment -

Your anaology makes a little sense if you live in the sticks. Unfortunately In heavily populated areas there will always be someone desperate enough to work that warehouse labor job for less than what it used to pay. Is that really how you think it should be ? There is no end to corporate greed. Do you enjoy paying for those workers foood stamps ? You never address that either. Just bury your face in the sand while Bezos and Waltons butt rape us tax payers. Strang fetish you have there.Comment -

#99You are skipping over the fact that years ago before corporate greed put there foot on the throat of working people. Jobs similar to Warehouse labor used to pay far better than they do now.

Dude I hear what you're saying on food stamps and economic justice. You guys are just going down the wrong path to address the problem. If you mandate $15 an hour you will hurt the people you are trying to help. That is settled science.
As long as you are FOR flooding the country with 1 million people a year working mostly for under the table cash and driving down the low end of wages and strangling companies to the point they leave and creating massive expenses with regulations and having high taxes you will always have the situation you have been talking about. Raise the min wage, will make it even worse.
You just can't accept the solution. For example if you had a zero % corp tax & stopped illegal immigration you would have companies camped out at high school graduations and offering the moon to send kids to college or vocational or their own inhouse training in exchange for a contract. You want higher wages? Create more jobs than you have workers.Comment -

#100No, a business will make money after those investments are paid off. Using the taxi analogy, if I pay 25k for a car, and you drive it, making an average of $200 a shift 14 times a week, that car makes $2800 a week. I'll pay the drivers half, and the rest (cost of the car, insurance, maintenance, medallion, government fees, etc) goes to me. Once I get some of those things paid off, I start making profit off that car. If that car gets totaled with only 5,000 miles on it, I lose money on the car. Do that with every car, I'm out of business and have lost lots of money.Comment -
