A few years ago, an incident happened near me where someone driving a Jeep Wrangler heading north got decapitated by a tire that came off of a vehicle from the opposite lane that was going south.

I've seen a big rig tire fly off on the freeway bounce 100 feet in the air with each bounce coming down the opposite side of the freeway.. Keep in mind the tire is traveling in the other direction at 60mph or more off the other side of the freeway..

This truck tire missed my car and me by a few feet.. It was blur but saw it coming.. Luckily that tire bounced off the free way and didn't slam into a car.. I think that tire would have killed me and my car at the time.. No Lie.. It would have been like an explosion with a direct hit..

Oh if you break down on the freeway stay way inside the shoulder and not near your car or inside it because your broken down car quickly becomes a live target to hit from on coming traffic.. You won't even see it coming!!!

This vid is brutal for both these guys.. I think the first guy lost his legs or life at the rear bumper hit..

Same happened to me. If I left work a second earlier, you guys wouldn't be putting up with my bullshit.
Tractor trailer wheel came across the median and just missed me by a second. Drank an extra beer to
celebrate life that night.

Unless you live in the Congo is some remote rain forest tires flying off cars do happen and happen more often then you'd think..

I had a rear tire bust off on my high performance lexus 10 years ago, the spindle broke during a burn out thru the 1st 3 gears, when it hit the 3rd gear tires grabbed and SNAP!! All the lug nuts broke off and that rear wheel flying down the road. I was going about 40 mph or so at the time.. Back end dropped.. Spark show soon followed as the rear disc brake and spindle was grinding to a halt on the street asphalt..

That rear tire went flying and bouncing down the street road, hopped the curb and went thru 5 front lawns before slamming into a fence.. Broke the fence by the way..

Gotta watch out for rouge flying tires!!! ..

Leaving the casino one day, looked over and there was a jeep grand cherokee with it's rear driver side tire
gone off the rim. Looks like he drove a few miles on the rim. Instead of changing the tire, he went in to gamble.
Guess the money was burning a hole in his pocket.
