    My happiness=no more drinking
    =more money to gamble sports/horses

    My bliss=betting sports/horses

I am thinking about making a big life change, to quit drinking forever.
I turn 42 in a couple of weeks, drinking gets me to act wreckless with my money, therefore, I sometimes don't have any money to gamble sports and horses.

I have nobody to blame, but myself.

If the temporary euphoria is eclipsed by the crushing post-depression, the choice is clear. Hope you are well Darrell. I was going to say cheers but I'll just leave it at godspeed.

Yeah - I have almost 6 months with no booze/substances. I was just thinking about the whole "successful" thing and while I think it's a little early to tell, I will say yes. Relationships with friends and family are better 100%. Wife and kids like me again and I am doing things for them that I would have blown off or not made an effort to do in the past. I have also made the most money in my career this year and it's looking like next year will be a good one too.

It's hard to do but I feel good about the decision. It's really cliche but it's one day at a time. I had a lot of great times drinking and doing crazy shit. Unfortunately for me my body and brain do not react to alcohol and drugs like they used to.
