About 10 years ago, I Grinded online poker one night at allpro for about 12 hours staring with $300 and won $2,500 and quit. A few days later I got a custom ring made and then got engaged.

I often look back and wonder how my life would have been different today if I didn't win that night.

I have been thinking about it.... and I can't fukking remember. It was 15 years ago. I got in from a hasidic jew from the diamond district in NYC and I know it was half the price of similar diamonds in the jewelry stores. I think it was 4 or 5 grand.

I don't know what happened to my dumb ass I should have stuck with that type of strategy because a few years ago I bought her a necklace from Tiffany. Now she expects to pull a little blue box from under the Christmas tree every year.

I had my diamond guy in LA make a Tiffany style ring. Even the people at Tiffany can't tell and remark on my wife's ring. Paid 5k, same ring was 20k at Tiffany. Fukk that.

A Manhattan man is suing his ex-fiancée because she ended their engagement but won’t return the pricey, custom-made ring.
Philip Langer, 45, proposed to leggy blonde Ashley Jae Chesler, 43, just three months after they met in a Manhattan bar.
The $30,000 engagement ring.He thought he sealed the deal with a stunning sparkler that featured a 2.52 carat diamond surrounded by 34 rubies and another 55 smaller diamonds, according to court papers. Langer spent $30,000 to have it made.
But Chesler called off the relationship.
Months have gone by — but Chesler allegedly still hasn’t returned the fancy piece of finger candy.
State law requires her to return the ring, Langer says in court papers. He wants a judge to force Chesler to give the ring back or pay him what it’s worth.
Chesler could not be reached for comment.

Paid about $1500, and the ring appraised for about $3k back then. Any more than $5k and you look desperate imo, I don't care how much money you make. If my wife complained the ring wasn't good enough she woulda been kicked to the curb. As far as the old adage that you spend 3 months salary on it, yea I'd shoot myself before spending that much on a piece of jewelry.
