Thoughts on True Detective season 2

I know its only 2 episodes in but I like a lot already. Like the actors they got Colin Farrell is really good at his part, I thought that season 2 might be disappointing because it is going to be hard to top Woody and Matthew two hard to say at this point really early I like the direction that its going though.

Imo season has been boring. If not for the good actors I would have stopped watching after episode 1 or 2. I thought tonights episode was boring. Most the dialogue with Vince Vaughn confuses me because it is boring as shit.

Entertaining but at times is bogged down by its attempt to recapture the existentialism and nihilism of the previous season.

It definitely has potential but desperately needs to attempt blaze its own trail rather than attempt to piggyback on the first season by regurgitating elements that were thought to be reasons for its popularity.

That screen isn't from True Detective but if you watch the first episode again...when she's done penetrating the sheriff in her apartment she shows it off for a second in the bedroom getting dressed I completely went blank for the next few minutes and had to rewind it

My theory is Vince Vaughn killed Casper and he still has his 5 million dollars and he is using this perceived financial hardship to leverage his power and take the attention off of himself with the police.

Interesting theory, bear.

I feel like they are running out of time to introduce the beginnings of a "should have seen this coming" twist but I guess that one would make sense. I think Vince Vaughn's second in command is the key to this whole thing. We saw he is involved in the cartel's prostitution ring. I think it was him that shot Colin Farrell in Caspere's second house with the bird mask on.

Whatever the twist is, it better not be something hokey. I feel like as good as season one was ( I just re watched it) its plot, at its most basic, was kind of a cliche as far as the whodunnit aspect.
