Lost my dog at age 16. I never wanted one after that.

What's even more sad... from a financial stand point... every friend who I know who owns a dog has vet bills up the a$$. Once they get sick... 5k-10k easily. I don't trust vets. They know they can put pressure on you because you aren't going to kill/hurt your own dog... and you don't want the animal to suffer. Every time you walk in a vet... its 1k. + no guarantee that it will work for your loving pet. It's absurd.

I remember years ago. some chick I dated for a short while, had one of those lil yappy dogs. Dog wasn't that old, like 5 , and she was telling me all the zhit that was wrong with it. How it ran out in street when it was young and got hit by a car, had a hip replacement. Had allergies, asthma, glaucoma, all kinds of zhit. And needed constants shots and meds, visits to the vet.
I remember telling her if it were my dog, it would be a dead dog. we didn't date long.

moral to my state of mind is. Throw it in the gutter and go get another. Or put it in the ground and go to the pound. Mutts last a long time and are low maintenance.

It's the same as a human doctor. They typically know nothing about health and nutrition -- only about medicine. When you get a dog make him the best food (not store bought) and give him supplements...I give my boy wheat grass, msm, liposomal vitamin c, blackstrap molassas 2x per week, brewers yeast, blueberries, coconut oil and when he's not feeling well -- which is very rare -- colodial silver which works like a charm on infection for dogs and people. You have to take the power out of the bs'ers hands and you'll feel like you're in control of your dogs life.
