Thinking of going on a Cruise Ship for my next vacation instead of Las Vegas
I've been going to Las Vegas so many times as my vacation spot with my lady but friends started to tell me that I would save more money going on a cruise instead of spending 2-3 nights in Vegas.
Anybody wanna chime in and give some experience on cruises?
    Heard some cruises had Casinos.

Get away from gambling man go somewhere where you just relax

You're a compulsive gambler so why wreck your vacation?

Go where there is zero casinos or any form of gambling

I have been on two, one being a single cruise through Carnival Cruise Lines when they first put the boat "Fantasy" into the water. I later when on another cruise through Norwegian Cruise Lines that was themed as "Jazz Cruise" with some of the best jazz singers performing on it of our time, both sucked unless you like staying on the boat all day. These were 4 and 7 day cruises stopping at various ports. The thing you have to ask yourself is what the fuk are you going to do if it is raining when you hit the different ports, and both cruises I have been on I had to deal with rain unfortunately. The last thing to ask yourself is how much of a place can you actually see in a half a day or a day. Generally if you go to a new place it takes a full day or more to learn the lay of the land, or where everything is located that you might want to see or visit. Another thing I did not like about a cruise is they promote about how many bars and bullchit are on the boat, but you will find they are all rather boring. The Jazz Cruise was fun when the Jazz performers and bands played but this was in a theatre type of room. The food I have no complaints about, but for dinner they offer you a early dinner or late dinner time, and you have to eat dinner during those time periods, and you are seated with groups of people you do not know, which is not my thing.

With all this being said, I know many people who love cruises, and these people are the same people that will stay in a all inclusive hotel property and never leave it for there entire vacation period. I love getting out, experiencing the culture of the place I am visiting, eating local cuisine, being able to party in different bars, and escape tourists. I do not like being in organized activities.

Whatever you choose to do JMobile, have fun and make lots of memories. I am not sure where you are located, but if you send me a message I can probably give you some good options that are affordable, and less expensive than a cruise, where you can have the time of your life, as I have been fortunate to travel the world over more than once, both for business and pleasure, and I have lived in Southeast Asia, Mexico, and South America, so I am very knowledgeable on many different places.

              Been on about 10 cruises

All had gambling, but very limited action ( I mean like Blackjack 5 minimum 50 maximum etc )

Alaskan cruise was by far my most favorite

dI'd it in August both times

Now that Im.retired, I go through " vacations to go"

If you have a flexible schedule.....you will save big dollars and still be able to get top notch service and a great room.

You may have to decide to go in less than a month, but if you get outside balcony/ suite/ top floops and pay $3500-4000 or so......it's well worth it

http://www.vacationstogo.com/ is a very reputable company as you know Let's Go Rangers, as I have read about them in various travel magazines, internet searches, and newspapers, and have had friends who also booked through them.

The only way to go if retired or have flexible schedule ( self employed etc )

Hell....for what you save in one cruise you can book another.....

For 8-10k you can put together two very nice two week cruises

carnival worked out well for me the two times I traveled with them. In a matter of 4-6 hours I made my ticket price back playing poker against a bunch of drunk amateurs, I was drunk too just not making as many bad decisions ha. However, certainly a lot of things that were not ideal. I wouldn't call them negatives because I'm not the type that goes on vacation and bitches, can't stand those people, but I'm doubt I'm going on carnival next.

Also what was nice is both times I arrived to the boarding area early, where all the chairs are and you sit and wait, and both times I received an upgrade for my room. I'm talking like first 5 people early, not sure if other cruise lines do this or if I just got lucky. First time it happened out of no where when I walked up to check in, we were the 4th and 5th person there, second time I got there early and asked with a smile.

Cruises can be great, been on many of them myself. I would suggest a 5-7 day cruise that way you folks can really enjoy yourselves.

Easiest way is pic something that s closet to you in terms of boarding on-off No reason to fly across the country to get on ship.

Princess cruise lines and Holland America are both excellent.

I was thinking of doing an Alaskan Cruise out of Seattle and catching some Mariners games and smoking herb in Seattle in the process.

but the problem with cruises is often they get quarantined and everybody on the boat gets explosive diarrhea

I did a couple of 6 month cruises in the Navy. So no big desire for a long cruise.
