#41I'm in shock that sourtwist is married.
I pictured him as a mother's basement dweller.
Sourtwist, does the wife have big knockers?
Good luck on the move, buddy. Stay out of California.Comment -

#42I think its time to get out of NY. Where do you guys live? Where do you recommend one should look?
Work is not an issue for me. Wherever I go, I will be opening a NY style pizza restaurant preferably in a suburban area. Schools are very important too, I have a daughter and plan on having two more within next couple years.
Reason for leaving NY? Sick of paying 2100/month rent plus another 400 utilities. My auto insurance for 3 vehicles is just under 450/month. I work to pay bills. I want to work to build equity in a house and to save for kids education and retirement.
Any suggestions?
P.S.
Yes I did get killed in yesterdays games, but I already squared up with my local.Comment -

#43Where in NY? One thing I can say is everything is relative. The North East, Ny,Nj, and Conn have the highest per capita income. Yes things are more expensive but the wages are much higher and more job opportunities. Also, education system is very good compared to rest of the country. Tri state area, lots of things to do, great restaurants, top entertainment, and no place like the city. Depends on the type of person you are and if you can adjust to other parts of the country. Some people like the country life and slower pace but miss the mental and intellectual stimulation and all the things to do.Comment -

#45Serious question, so you cannot afford your place now or the rent. How would you be able to afford to move and pay for a brand new pizza place?Comment -

#46Move to OKC
Tulsa is a 90 minute drive and was recently named one of the top 52 cities in the world to visit
OKC is growing. Great time to get in there as well as the oil and energy sector is taking a huge toll on the state. Guys looking to off load their mortgages because they're losing their jobs.
NY style pizza would do well there
Very cheap to live there. You can easily save and travel all you want.Comment -

One thing I can say, no matter where you move , you take yourself with you. It's all about attitude and mindset. If you're not happy with yourself then you won't be happy anywhere. Also, life decision that effects everyone in the family. Many times people move but can't come back and have regrets. Employment and work opportunities must be secured before a big move. Hope this helps and BOL.Comment -

#56NJ , near the city. Also, have traveled a bit. Majority of people I've met from the area and have relocated all say the same thing, that they miss it. We tend to take for granted everything we have access to and at our finger tips. Schools and education system for the majority are very good and that's part of the reason why taxes are so high. Can't beat the food, great deli's,Pizzaria's, restaurants, etc. Strip malls all over the place. So many choices within short driving distance. Lots of chains in other areas of country. Everyone tells me they miss the food.

You seem much more wise in this thread than when you are ripping people a new azzhole in other threads. LolComment -

I know my niece and nephew are doing very well in life one grew up in Alabama and the other Florida...what a crock how ny is better. There are areas like ny all over without the high debt. My cousin is a golf pro in Arizona and does very well and his wife is a motel manager and makes 28 per hrComment -
