Russian Rocket I Need Your Help
Or anyone that can help me with this issue.

Last year the website my wife uses for work, which is a college website, stopped working in our house. There was nothing wrong with the site because as soon as you left our network, it was fine. So I changed my Comcast DNS to Google's 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4. and it worked fine.

Fast forward to last night: Same issue - page won't load - but I'm still using Google's DNS. I tried Comcast's again, nothing.

Do you have any idea what I can do?

I called Comcast but they have no clue.

lol.... this is where I clear every conceivable cache, delete all the shit under internet options "delete", and reboot.... if that doesn't work, I go to a different porn site!

      Ha, not a porn site.

But this is happening on all four computers plus three iPads, so I have no clue what is going on.

I was about to say that your ISP must be blocking that site for whatever reason, but since it's no longer working with neither Comcast nor Google DNS, the issue might be either with a website itself or with dns cache on your system.

When you called Comcast, what exactly did they do for you to resolve this issue? Were they trying to reset your modem over the phone? Did they ask you to flush dns cache?

Most operating systems and DNS clients will automatically cache IP Addresses and other DNS results, this is done in order to speed up subsequent requests to the same hostname. Sometimes bad results will be cached and therefore need to be cleared from the cache in order for you to communicate with the host correctly. All major operating systems allow you to force this process.

If you're on Windows box, do this:

        1. Click the start button and navigate to the command prompt (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt)
        2. Make sure that you right click on the command prompt application and choose "Run as Administrator"
        3. Type in the command ipconfig /flushdns
        4. Hit enter and then try to launch that site again

Comcast said they would look into it, meaning they will see why this site is blocked from our service. I guess in 24 hours I'll hear something, but I hate to rely on Comcast.

There isn't any reason for our ISP to be blocked from this site, either plus I called tech support for the site, its fine, and I can access it on my phone when I'm not using our home connection.

The thing is my computer doesn't use Google's DNS, but my wife's does, so one or the other should work, right?

I guess I can ask for a new ISP and see if that works.

                  Nope, didn't work.

I guess I'll have to wait for Comcast to get back to me.

I feel it's an ISP thing.

                    yup, more than likely

one last thing to do, if you haven't done so already, try to reset your modem - unplug it, wait for 1-2 minutes and plug it back in

after that, launch command prompt again and type:

                      ping www.sitename.com

hit enter and post here what came back to you

you can try that, but it shouldn't take that long to reset the modem

It just says request timed out.

                                        4 packets sent 0 received

And well it's for all my computers, some are Macs, so this is nuts. I don't think it's an update.

sounds like Comcast blocking site for whatever reason.

if your phone can be used as hotspot try that way to see if it is Comcast

When I pink my own ISP it works; I got four replies back.
