Anyone else think Gambling makes Anxiety and Stress Worse?
For me with my job being so stressful it just seems like sometimes gambling
makes me even more stressed out and shit...

Anyone else ever feel like they need to take a break from gambling just to calm the nerves?

I mean I want to try to make money but it totally consumes me sometimes and I end up sitting inside all day on a sunday watching sports and sometimes only to lose money and i feel like it was a waste of time.

Stressed nerves is a sign you are betting too high a percentage of your bankroll on one game. Stay under 5% and relax.

interesting topic..from someone who`s suffered from anxiety for many years i have found that gambling is an escape. Something to pass the time and forget about everything.

                thats deep Pauly.

I hate anxiety and stress but i love gambling.

The adrenaline rush i get "before" the game feels great.

During the game i am a nervous wreck though...

i'll place a bet and think, 'well this will be cool, i can make a drink and watch the game tonight' and then i won't watch at all. you realize over time that it's either a) a boring blowout winner b) a backdoor after you thought it was a blowout winner which pisses you off because you wasted 2-3 hours of your life c) a long, tough loss where you were always losing and couldn't break through but you kept holding out hope or d) the rarest of all, the one where you win in exciting fashion, and it made watching the game some mindblowing experience that you will remember forever.

Being in action DEFINITELY raises my stress and anxiety. But that being said, WON money is so much sweeter than EARNED money.

Gambling makes me lose nap time. I usually like to take naps after work but if I have bet on a game then I almost feel compelled to stay awake to watch it. Other than that, I dont really get stressed out from gambling. I may get frustrated, but never stressed. I dont gamble large amounts though. If my livelihood depended on gambling, I'd be a wreck. But if you treat as a hobby, sort of like playing the stock market, it shouldnt take away your enjoyment of life.

People who have ADHD are naturally attracted to stress/anxiety and fight or flight, sending the adrenalin gland into permanent work mode for the fact this is the only way they can halfway function or feel alive..

The problem with this is the said gland will eventually halt all at once of producing adrenalin one day..

which explains why you had to retire from gambling.

if you dont watch it then how hell do you handicap it?

you gotta study film. I always tape random NFL games and college games bc i know i cant watch them all on the weekend and the during the work i use it as a reference and i always study film on both teams before making a wager.

Box scores dont tell the whole story.

only when I lose, or actually watch what I bet on.....

last night's Patriot first-half futility, coupled with a picked up flag on a holdng call right at the end of the 1st quarter, which allowed the Jet's to kick and end of quarter f.g. to crush my first quarter bet on the Pats, added to the non-call on the shove of Brady at the end of the 2nd Q, and subsequent p.foul call on the Pat's retaliation, which took away what should have been a first and goal and t.d. op for the Pats (they cover my first half bet with that t.d.), definitely made my stress and anxiety worse!!!!!!!!!

I hate anxiety and stress but i love gambling.

The adrenaline rush i get "before" the game feels great.

During the game i am a nervous wreck though...
